"Game of Thrones" fans will be disappointed to hear that the show won't be coming back in 2018. Instead, the final season of "Game of Thrones" will air in 2019, with veterans of the series returning to play key roles behind the scenes.

2019? WTF?
Watch reruns.
there is a methadone substitute though.
No one should not be watching “Peaky Blinders” on Netflix.
Four seasons of British gangsters in the 1920s. Best thing I’ve seen on television, maybe ever.
GRRM isn’t doing anything? Writing no episodes?
I think this is a mistake. Its quality has been going downhill for the past two seasons. If there is a one year hiatus, people may not return to watching in large numbers.
SPOILER ALERT:
The DRAGONS win....................
Thanks fir the heads up on Peaky Blinders. I will check it out!
He hasn’t been doing much on the show for years now. The showrunners are stuck coming up with material on their own now, based on a few notes that GRRM gave them of what may (or may not) happen in the books that GRRM hasn’t finished writing yet.
His lazy ass seems to be more interested in watching football or working on his side projects than actually delivering on his most successful product.
Try reading the books. I started on them over the holidays and got seriously hooked. LOL - I was like some kid gamer and spent serious hours, like from 6:00 pm to 3 or 4 am reading some nights. I’m like that when I find a good read, especially a series of books. I’m on the fourth book now. I hear the final book is coming and I’m wondering if the reason they are delaying the last season is for the author to finish the final book.
I watched the first couple of episodes and thought they were OK but never got back to it. Looks like I'll have to give it another try.
There’s no way “Winds of Winter” is the last book. There’s way too much for him to wrap up.
He still has to write TWO more books which most doubt he will ever do.
Yeah, me too. Nothing great....more like a rip off of Boardwalk Empire.
I thought this had been announced last year, so no surprise to me. Just means I won’t need HBO until 2019. Maybe the GOT knock-offs will find new fans during the hiatus.
Yes, it’s a bit heavy on character exposition at the start, but it kicks into gear in a big way. Watch for Winston Churchill.
Agreed. Awesome show!
stick with it...
GRRM is too busy with his blog, selling action figures, attending fantasy conventions etc. Writing (good writing) is tough work, GRRM has umpteen millions in the bank and not much motivation to actually be an author.
