What is Taylor Swifts Reputation worth? Not the jacked-up prices shes charging for concert tickets.
Thats the verdict from ticked-off fans, who are balking at buying seats for the 28-year-old pop stars tour to promote her new Reputation album, citing stratospheric markups and greedy sales gimmicks.
I paid $150 for my ticket with amazing seats for the 1989 tour. Now for the same seats I have to pay about $500, Twitter user swiftieloves recently griped.
A look at Ticketmasters interactive seat charts confirms that Swifts schedule of 33 dates for the North American Reputation tour has yet to produce a single sellout, from its May 8 launch in Phoenix to its Oct. 6 finale in Arlington, Texas.
Thats despite seats being available to the general public since Swifts birthday on Dec. 13. By comparison, all the dates on Swifts 1989 tour in 2015 sold out within minutes, according to concertsandsports.com.

$500?
How are the scalpers gonna make a living?
Besides, all of her music are about getting even with somebody, so, nothing new to go see or hear.
She was born on December 13, 1989.
I saw Taylor Swift before she was famous opening for Rascal Flats in Omaha in 2006. They introduced her as the next big thing. Im not into country (except I love Rascal Flats) and I didnt particularly care for Taylor although I remember her as a beautiful young girl with gorgeous long blonde hair. Interesting I remember her but not her music.
Used Cars - a classic movie and, IIRC, the first Steven Spielberg film.
She has enough money right now to never work another day in her life.
I agree that Taylor’s voice isn’t top quality. She supposedly is a talented song writer though.
Based on the reports of my niece, a lot of young girls don’t care for her new album. I think Swift was targeting an older, edgier market with her latest work.
The higher ticket price could be a way of discouraging teeny boppers from attending.
Where are 15 year old girls gonna get $500?.......................Don’t answer that question....................
You’re so right about concert DVD’s. They have excellent quality these days. The last live concert I even considered was SADE at American Airlines Center in Dallas (2011 I think). I couldn’t imagine seeing her in that place.
I’ve seen MANY groups in concert.
I’ve seen KISS 4 times.
2 in make up, 2 not.
UNBELIEVABLE show.
Their music is pretty “basic”.
No real musicianship, especially compared to a lot of others.
But nobody came anywhere close to their show.
And out of ALL the concerts,
KISS has by far THE HOTTEST and the MOST, hot women. BY FAR.
I’ve seen the Stones 5 times, and I quit when tickets went above $22.50
I saw BOTH of them THAT YEAR!!!.................
Her birth year, why she titled it that.
Yep! KISS put on the best shows PERIOD! They give you your money’s worth!
The absolute worst show was YES, In The Round.......So boring I fell asleep!..................
Sounds like a lot of empty concert seats like empty NFL football stadium seats.
She is a talented young woman.
Shame someone talked into gouging her fans.
That about sums her up...................
Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate....
I spent $900 for two tickets for my daughter-in-law and son to go see Tay-Tay.
Bow down!!!
1989 was the name of the tour after her album of the same name.
Square.
Interesting. Kinda like when you get a loaner car, you just drive it and like it or nor based on the humdrum reality. Unlike the mystique that surrounds a car you’re lusting after and fantasize about driving through the woods or mountains, lol.
The free market will resolve this issue like it always does. Even if tickets plunge back to the “bargain basement” price of $150, I’m sure she won’t be eating out of dumpsters and sleeping in the shelter.
$6.00? I think that was the monthly car payment on my folks’ 1974 Honda Civic. (I may be off one decimal, but still....)
