This marks a significant acceleration in production for the electric car company.
Tesla has been hyping its Model 3 vehicles since they were announced in 2014. The car was designed to be an affordable all-electric sedan, but despite receiving approximately half a million pre-orders the company has so far only delivered a few hundred units. However, that might be about to change: Electrek is reporting that hundreds of new Model 3s have been leaving the Tesla factory over the past few days.
Electrek published drone video footage yesterday of a parking lot at the Tesla factory in Fremont full of Model 3s being loaded onto trucks. This comes after footage last week of the that same factory with an estimated 500 Model 3s in the same parking lot. Its unclear whether the footage published yesterday features the same cars as the video published a week ago, or if these are new cars.
Either way, this represents a significant acceleration in Teslas Model 3 production. The company only delivered 712 Model 3s total by November, and according to these videos the company stands to nearly double that number in December.
This means that Tesla might be on track to meet its 2018 goal of 5,000 vehicles per week by March 2018. If thats the case, people might not have to wait as long for their cars as they thought.
Battery car + arctic air = possible death scenario.
My daughter Angie ordered a Tesla Model 3 and is supposed to get it in 2018.
“Are these actually cars or inflatable decoys?”
Inflatable decoys!
That Musk is one slick operator!
A battery powered tool is really nice for odd jobs, but for a long days work, I want lots of power without needing to wait for the batteries to recharge.
There are a dozen gas pumps a half mile from my home and I can fuel up in less than ten minutes. I can then drive over 500 miles to another one and again fuel up in less than ten minutes
Electric cars work out well for some people. For others they don’t. Your original snarky comment doesn’t apply to everybody.
Electric cars are a joke. We can already refill our vehicles in our garages and it doesn't take all night.
that should have been a well-equipped Model 3 for $45,000:

still not an “affordable” car by most peoples’ standards ...
“Sure. But I dont want a thousand dollar electricity bill every month.”
Which is what we would get if everyone moved to the monopoly of the local electric companies with these idiotmobiles.
“I wonder how many they actually sell per week?”
better question is how many to do they get PAID for per week ...
Especially since many gas vehicles exist that cost half that.
Even if an electric car works perfectly and is more environmentally friendly than a typical car that runs on gas, they still haven't solved the problem that it's not convenient to own an electric car for the reasons you stated.
Bingo!
Price range. Everyone from Acura to Lexus to Volvo makes luxury cars in that price range. The Tesla 3 is an also-ran in its price range, as is the Model S in its price range.
It’s probably on that pic....................
See post 19........................
OUCH!.....................
No, but that would make a great Anti-Tesla stunt!.......................A Tesla connected by cables to a Semi tractor trailer pulling a Diesel powered generator..............
No, they just self destruct................
What will happen to Tesla once the tax break for buyers goes away (estimated to be late 2019 or early 2020)?
Not much, probably. The left rich will still buy it to FEEL smugly morally superior to everyone else................
