In a little over a decade the world could be plunged into a 'mini ice age', scientists have warned.
Temperatures will start dropping in 2021, according to a mathematical model of the Sun's magnetic energy.
This, they say, will lead to a phenomenon known as the 'Maunder minimum' - which has previously been known as a mini ice age when it hit between 1646 and 1715, even causing London's River Thames to freeze over.
The study says that between 2020 and 2030 solar cycles will cancel each other out.
The model of the Sun's solar cycle is producing unprecedentedly accurate predictions of irregularities within the Sun's 11-year heartbeat.
It draws on dynamo effects in two layers of the Sun, one close to the surface and one deep within its convection zone.
Researchers, led by maths professor Valentina Zharkova at Northumbria University, built up on previous research that predicts magnetic waves produced by the sun.
However, she has warned her model could not be used as proof of a mini ice age - in part because of global warming.

FBI interviewed some passengers. Some accounts say they took off the plane a muslim, a woman, and another man.
Latest account says one of the men had a ticket on a United flight to Tokyo but boarded with his brother onto the Japan airways flight.
It only took them 4 hours to discover that one passenger had no seat.

We need to start burning coal like there's no tomorrow without all the fancy filters!
Then there are the short faced bears ... and the previously mentioned Dire Wolves.
Yeah that’s a great graphic!
I like to show it to “Warmies” and ask them to explain it.
I had not heard that story. Sounds like some real sharp investigators there.
Aaarrrrrgh! It’s already happening! It’s colder today, then it has been since last January! Aaarrrrrgh!

There’s the money line!
Now the polar bears are going to eat my dog Fifi...
But...but...I thought the polar bears were dying off because it’s getting warmer! (In middle of room, spinning in a circle, pulling hair out in confusion)
It’s 11 degrees where I am right now.

For most of Earth’s history, there have been no ice caps at all...
For most of Earths history, there have been no ice caps at all...
That is a valid point.
Brrrr! Got down to 17 here in northeast Oklahoma, last night. Of course, it was 60°, last week. We only get about six weeks of what I’d call winter. Up north, we used to get at least four months of winter, not counting 2 months of wintry spring. Down here, roses bloom through most of December, and if you don’t get your garden plowed up, and spring onions set out by March 1st, you’ll hit the rainy season, and won’t be able to get your tomato plants out in April. As a matter of fact, spring’s right around the corner, and people are starting to plant tomato seeds indoors, so their tomato plants will be ready to transplant by then. I don’t miss that northern weather one bit! Stay warm!
A young man from Oklahoma lived with me for a few months several years ago.
I had to teach him some of the “tricks” of shoveling snow.:-)

Tonight, we should say thank you in our prayers for Gorebull Warming.
It would be a real disaster if not for Gorebull Warming.

Here’s how we shovel snow in NE Oklahoma:
1) Wait for snow to stop falling, usually by mid morning.
2) Wait for snow to melt, usually by mid afternoon.
Once in a while, it’ll stick around for a couple of days. If we get more than a dusting, schools close. ;-)
Love it !!!!
I also had an ice dam bring water into my house while he was there-——he didn’t even know what ice dams were.
It was a nasty winter.

I have yet to recover from the destruction of the rain forest and don’t get me started on the Ozone Hole.
The answer will still be to reduce carbon emissions.
Thats always the answer!

Ooh! Sounds awful!
OK, I’ll bite. What are you talking about when you say ice dam. I’m out here in California.
