A young man from Oklahoma lived with me for a few months several years ago.
I had to teach him some of the “tricks” of shoveling snow.:-)
Here’s how we shovel snow in NE Oklahoma:
1) Wait for snow to stop falling, usually by mid morning.
2) Wait for snow to melt, usually by mid afternoon.
Once in a while, it’ll stick around for a couple of days. If we get more than a dusting, schools close. ;-)

I also had an ice dam bring water into my house while he was there-——he didn’t even know what ice dams were.
It was a nasty winter.
