In what has become an annual, Christmas Eve tradition of sorts, I wonder if anyone else out there is spending your Christmas Eve solo.
I suppose we're never really alone if we have FR and the wonderful people who make up the membership here.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
It breaks my heart that you are estranged from your son. And know no one in your city. Come over and watch umpteen dog shows with us.
Sometimes your alone even when you are surrounded by ppl.
Do not show this to mom. ;)
Not Homer, but yes reactor operator. Usually a quiet night this time of year. 90% of the staff is gone, and only the maintenance guys ( machine repair, electricians, plumbers, etc are around) double time and a half.
LOL !
Alone, by choice. In all honesty, I treasure solitude above most things. Tomorrow will be a family day where Christmas traditions are celebrated.
Merry Christmas to you, Skooz, and may the abundance of God’s love fill your heart throughout this season and always.
Yep....I am alone this Christmas Eve. My room mate is in hospital, but I am staying away because I have the ‘flu.
Merry Christmas to all Freepers and their loved ones.
I think I would trade you jobs for a week. Though you couldnt take the stress of mine. ;) little kid + special needs kid + special needs senior who thinks she is perfectly fine. A nuclear meltdown at the plant? Easy peasy, dude. ;)
Our Buddy was a Shepherd/Rottweiler mix. My wife surprised me with him when I came home from work one day in 1999. She got him at a shelter and he was less than a year old. A little over two years ago we had to put him out of his misery and we got a woman to come to our home and inject him with the fatal cocktail. He died in my arms several minutes later. My wife hears him walking around upstairs sometimes and he is in my dreams occasionally. He was a good dog.
You’ll love it. :)
A dozen people from wife’s side of the family just left after our annual Christmas eve dinner and get-together - wife and daughter off to Mass - now I’m alone for an hour or so in the peace and quiet and loving it - Merry Christmas......
Merry Christmas! Hope you enjoyed the steak...
Should get better ratings than the Super Bowl.
I got out of the power plant business in 2004. It wasn’t a bad job, just got tired of the rotating 12 hour shifts. Four on /four off, three on/three off. You had no life.
Thanks. It was excellent. I’m a ribeye connoisseur, but a while back I discovered the most flavorful steak of all is an inexpensive chuck eye. Marinate for a few hours, cook slowly to medium and man, oh man. Delicious.
Christmas can be a time of extreme joy or extreme despair.
One option would be joining up with church groups that go caroling at nursing homes or hospitals. Now you’re part of a group sharing the spirit.
Lol...love that!
Do you pan sear the steak?
I don’t have a gas broiler, so getting that black & blue isn’t that easy.
