Go back to your whiskey. You’re good.

I am still on my first weak one. Surely you can do better than that.

What is your point?

BTW, there are lurkers who listen to and read your posts.

Do you dismiss them also by telling them to go back to their whisky.

Come on...give it to us. What is your point about Matt 2?

If you are a believer, you have a burden to help the rest of us see and understand the Gospel.

I believe in you. Give it a try.

An advanced civilization, by definition, is not barbaric

Wanna bet?

Dunno about us = rats, but I do see the point of "This time around, everyone is "the Indians".

Not a fun prospect. OTOH, as Wells so brilliantly pointed out, the common cold - to a Human could well be the Black Death to BEM.

(BEM = Bug Eyed Monster)

Have you not seen “Mars Attacks”?

I humbly suggest we stop thinking in terms of Star Trek or ET, and instead think in terms of the Bronx Zoo. Zookeepers and their charges are, by necessity and (you could say) by design, biologically compatible.

Fun to ponder even though I believe we are the only intelligent life in the universe.

I'd qualify that with 'in the galaxy' and 'at this time'; if you accept the ideal of going from primitive creature to (us) an advanced civilization in less than 25,000 years, it seems reasonable to assume that more could have existed at some point in the past several billion years.

Yes, the odds say that life should exist out there. It also says that the chance is over billions of years and depending upon who you consult, humanity has been around for the smallest of fractions of that time.

The odds say nothing of the sort.

We do not have enough information to calculate the odds. But, given that we have found nothing, it suggests there is no other life form to communicate with us.

We may be effectively alone. Perhaps our duty to God is to populate the universe with life.

The ‘new world’ would have been very much different without small pox and other European introduced diseases which wiped out huge populations before ‘white’ eyes set upon the earlier arrivals.

‘Get off my lawn’ is absolutely a valid thought when considering biologic introductions. Heck, if just they have a bacteria which thinks our intestinal bacteria is super yummy, most of us are dead within weeks.

Biologic contamination is orders of magnitude more critical, yet of course is always absent from science fantasy novels. (Oooh, don’t let them see us as we might contaminate their development...)

So how does this square with Matthew chapter 2?

Well, now that you brought it up, please exegete Matthew Chapter 2 for us with the goal of explaining just what it is you are talking about.

Do proceed..
