They had rocks back then, right?

Uh, no. [Pet] Rocks weren't until 1975.

I was obsessed with planes when I was a kid, so this was at the top of my list in 1970....

Q: How are liberals and Slinkies the same?

A: They’re not useful for anything but it makes you smile to watch one of them get pushed down a flight of stairs.

Toys hadn’t been invented until 1963?

I feel so spoiled because I had almost every toy listed through my youth, some of them after adulthood and before kids, and we bought our kids almost all the rest at some time.

And we were and are not rich. Apparently very indulgent though.

:)

"Am I so old that they don’t have history for my birth year? No toys back then?"

That was my first thought. We must have been born in the Dark Ages. I remember getting something like this plastic rocket ship drinking cup for Christmas in the 50's:

Rocket Ship Cup

My mother also used to buy all of us kids a special Christmas package of Life Savers. It was packaged like a book. You undid the tab and it opened up, and contained all different flavors on both sides of the pages. My favorite was clove and wintergreen, but they don't even make the clove flavor anymore.

They’re both intended for children... But, it’s usually the father that play with them the most!

I wanted a Slinky, but never got it.

They were the rage but never lasted an hour without it getting twisted or a kink in it. Not as much fun once that happened.

My dad actually bought a major set when I was 2. He always said he bought them for himself. I could use them qhen I was able. His 4-6-4 Hudson 773 with tender still sits on my fireplace mantle.
