n a sign that Sean Diddy Combs is serious about making a push to buy the Carolina Panthers, the hip-hop mogul is moving to set meetings with potential investors in hopes of shaping a prospective ownership group, two sources familiar with Combs told Yahoo Sports. Those efforts are expected to include the involvement of Colin Kaepernick, who had a lengthy call with Combs to discuss the former NFL quarterbacks role in forming an ownership group.

Like super cereal?
He could change the name to the North Carolina Kneelers.
If Mr. Combs is serious he really needs to exclude Colin Kaepernick if he doesn’t want to buy a sinking ship. I would hope a superior offer from a local group that actually knows something about owning and operating sports teams and major sporting events will step up. No offense, Mr. Combs, but you don’t strike me as capable. Perhaps you could prove me wrong in the absence of Kaepernick. With him you’re going down like the last 49ers season before he was let go.
I would like to see this just for the end result we all expect to happen. Would put bad ideas like New Coke to shame.
Could be a good idea .... they could cut costs by replacing the Stars Spangled Banner with some rap with lots of profanity. That should bring in the fans big time !
Guess Diddy is buying the team as a tax write off because with Kaepernick, there won’t be any tickets sold.
Combs is not exactly what I would call smart money. Buying the Carolina Panthers is the equivalent of a thousand "hoes" and Bentleys.
He’s actually a fairly astute businessman, in the world he knows.
The NFL owners made it known years ago that they would not approve an ownership group which would have included Rush Limbaugh. He was too controversial, too radioactive, to be a public face of an NFL franchise.
Would they approve Puff Daddy or Diddy whatever his stage name is now, to be a public face of a team???
Remember that the way the NFL is structured, potential owners have to he approved by the other owners, in order to finalize a purchase of an NFL franchise.
That’s for sure. Let it happen. Lol.
If it happens, one of the first demands from the players will be a pay hike.
Ouch!
Just another rich black man, spending a huge amount of money on a group of rich black men, disrespecting people to throw out a cause that has been known by the public for a couple of hundred years, calling it a platform when they do absolutely nothing else to try to help the issue, thus creating a disrespect for themselves they thought they were getting just by having their topic heard. (Whatever it is this week) We aren’t sure what their cause is as it has changed a number of times. Besides, it hasn’t been identified to anyone that can do anything about it. And the three athletes, yeah just three, that went to ask for some help with the issue talked to some low level people in government and went no further. Hell fo an effort!
And besides themselves, they are destroying the small businesses around the stadiums by driving away their business. And those folks don’t have the gzillion dollar contracts so they can afford “their platform.”
Then they lie about it saying they didn’t know they were disrespecting service men and women by attacking the National Anthem.
Can someone tell me what positive thing this is getting to outside of their learning you don’t bite the hand that feeds you?

“Sean Diddy Combs is serious about buying Carolina Panthers and Colin Kaepernick”
I didn’t know that Krapferbrains was up for sale...or that he was even worth buying.
Welllll.... if they have any consistency they would never approve a team ownership by anyone so “controversial” as P.Diddy Puff Daddy Sean Combs. He has probably uttered the “N-word” in public and on recordings more than anyone alive. His thuggish ghetto trash persona is certainly not what any professional sports league should aspire to. But it could be fun watching the NFL try to block this move for ownership in the current climate!
Of course, we don’t know if he can really assemble a financially credible ownership group. The team might sell for a couple of billion. He is worth a lot, but I think he’s in the hundreds of millions, not in the billions. He probably needs at least a couple of other heavy hitters willing to commit a lot of capital.
“Would they approve Puff Daddy or Diddy whatever his stage name is now, to be a public face of a team???”
Lawn chairs.

If I were an owner I would be freaking out right now. My once billion-dollar franchise is soon to be worth about tree-fiddy.
Sell Mortimer, sell!!
Too Funny. I hope the sale goes through. Rappers at halftime yay!!! New uniforms with saggy pants. Wooohoo!

><
Today Rush must be thankful for that.
The Carolina Diddies, featuring Colon Krappernick. They’ll be a huge hit!
Will the team have any white players?
