Why Trump Might Fire Rod Rosenstein Instead of Mueller
New York Magazine ^ | 12/18/2017 | By Jonathan Chait

But the contradictions or shaky grasp of the law or facts has not mattered. As every loopy new theory has been debunked, a new one has emerged to take its place. They have all supported the continuing narrative in conservative media that the FBI is run by biased liberals carrying out an extralegal coup against Trump. It is working precisely as intended. The delegitimization of the FBI is “starting to win over mainstream conservatives,” a source close to the White House tells Mike Allen.

Trump’s fury is mounting palpably. But its course is as unpredictable as a tornado’s. On the one hand, he appears to believe, at least some of the time, that Mueller’s investigation is headed toward a rapid and satisfactory conclusion. Trump’s lawyer Ty Cobb has reportedly fed the president this happy talk for months, in the face of all evidence — and even though Cobb’s predicted deadline for the end of the investigation keeps slipping, from Thanksgiving to the end of the year to, now, “January or so.”

Multiple reports have depicted the president in the grips of delusional optimism. “Trump is boasting to friends and advisers that he expects Mueller to clear him of wrongdoing in the coming weeks, according to sources familiar with the conversations,” reports CNN. “The President seems so convinced of his impending exoneration that he is telling associates Mueller will soon write a letter clearing him that Trump can brandish to Washington and the world in a bid to finally emerge from the cloud of suspicion that has loomed over the first chapter of his presidency, the sources said.” Yet his advisers expect the manic Trump inevitably to give way to the depressive Trump, whose “friends and advisers [are] worried the deadline could come and go, leaving Trump frustrated and...

No one is getting fired. Period.

Mueller and his merry band of misfits are exposed without cover.

Any of them are desperately hoping Trump will fire them, it’s there only way out of a short hearing followed by prison time.

They are all being flogged in public by FoxNews’ Hannity, Dobbs and Pirro with no sign of letting up.

Which explains why the MSM is targeting FoxNews i.e. discredit the witness. Simple stuff. Ain’t working though.

Good times. Good times.

“The President is in the grip of delusional optimism.”

To use an awful sports analogy, Trump routinely puts the goalposts 100 yards beyond the end zone, so he can score while idiots think he’s at midfield. How dumb must these editorialists be? or do they just pretend, to fool others? Somebody tell them about FDR and “nothing to fear but fear itself.” Projecting confidence and optimism is a key to success. The current Washington ethos is to sell low expectations, then underachieve; I guess someone with the courage to demand success threatens those who fear everything but failure.

Boy oh boy, the libs are getting nervous as their phony “Russia Collusion” withers on the vine and nabbing the President with a Special Prosecutor goes up in smoke. Don’t kid yourself, their nervousness comes from the fact they are very much aware of the merits behind the growing FBI/DOJ/Mueller debacle. When their Special Counsel ruse goes up in smoke all they will have left is that POTUS is unstable and ‘dangerous.’ Tell that to the public as the economy soars into the stratosphere, along with consumer confidence.

I had to invent a drink last night over this: The Sleazy Lawyer.

2oz Whiskey
1oz Midori Melon Liqueur
Squeeze each lemon and lime

Shake with ice, strain into scotch glass

You can bait DJT except when he knows he’s being baited. By now he’s pretty savvy. Baiting him now just puts the fisherman on the menu.

Did you mean Alinsky although she's a good replica of the "G-man"?

For some reason all of this reminds me of a joke.

A teacher asks the kids in her 3rd grade class: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Little Larry says: “I wanna start out as a fighter pilot, then be a billionaire, go to the most expensive clubs, find me the finest whore, give her a Ferrari worth over a million bucks, an apartment in Copacabana, a mansion in Paris, and a jet to travel throughout Europe, an Infinite Visa Card, and all the while banging her like a loose screen door in a hurricane.”
The teacher, shocked and not knowing what to do with this horrible response from little Larry, decides not to acknowledge what he said and simply tries to continue the lesson.
“And how about you, Suzy?”
“I wanna be Larry’s whore.”

Trump likes bold moves, but to frustrate the enemy, he shouldn’t make Rosenstein a media martyr by firing him. Instead “promote” Rosenstein to head up an initiative the left can’t argue is unimportant (ending the slaughter of blacks and others by cleaning up urban crime. BLM!). Appoint a loyal pit bull as Deputy AG, with a mandate to clean up the DoJ and FBI, prosecute the Clinton cabal wherever the law allows, prosecute leakers and unmaskers, expose the Russian conspiracy conspiracy, etc. Then roll up sleeves and go after the IRS and other corrupt bureaucracies.

The left is desperate to have President Trump self-immolate in some fashion.

There's actually a fair chance of this happening, and it would be preferable to firing Mueller directly. Rosenstein appointed the obviously conflicted Mueller within 24 hours of being legally able to do so, which Trump complained about in interviews immediately. Since then, Rosenstein has been Mueller's chief enabler, defending through all the info being released showing his partisan bias. Today is probably not the right day, but this is one of Trump's top options to stop the “democratic hit job” as he recently referenced to the MuellerRosenstein cabal.

First priority is to publish the FISA application Strzok built and walked to the judge, taking down everything the RATS have ‘accomplished’ with their poisonous fruit.

By the time that’s wreaked its damage, the average indie voter will be both watching MSNBC menstruating hysterically while opening up the happy surprise of his 401K statement he just fished out of the mailbox at 7am.

Right. The number one objective is to get the conservative press in conjunction with the Congressional committees to expose enough corruption in the DOJ to the point where an outside special counsel is required, as it becomes more obvious they can’t be trusted to investigate themselves. This solves several issues -

1. Cleans up corruption in DOJ, the root of all current issues.

2. Puts Rosenstein and Mueller under the microscope themselves, resulting in their resignations so they can focus on their own defense.

3. Allows the appointment of a non-biased team to finish the Trump investigation.
