ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - The elder son of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was in jail on Sunday facing assault and burglary charges in her home state of Alaska.
Track Palin, 28, appeared in state court in Palmer, Alaska, earlier in the day on a felony burglary charge and misdemeanour assault and criminal mischief charges, court records showed. The records indicated all the charges involved domestic violence.
It is not clear whether he entered a plea to the charges.
His legal troubles have prompted his mother in the past to question the support available for military veterans like him who may be suffering from post-traumatic stress.

After his arrest on Saturday, he remained in custody at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer on Sunday afternoon, Megan Edge, a spokeswoman for the Alaska Department of Corrections, said by phone.

PALMER, Alaska (KTUU) - Court records show the son of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin
has been arraigned on three charges Sunday morning, all are domestic violence related.
Track Palin, 28, faces a Class B Felony charge of first-degree burglary, one charge of
assault in the fourth degree and one charge of criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
According to an online offender locator database, a Track Palin is listed in custody
at Mat-Su Pre-Trial facility. CourtView shows, the offenses were all committed on
Saturday, Dec. 16. Palin was arraigned in the Palmer Courthouse at 10:00 a.m., Sunday morning.
Records indicate he previously faced domestic violence charges in 2016. According
to MSNBC, “he allegedly slugged his girlfriend in the face, kicked her in the knee, and
threatened suicide with an AR-15 assault rifle. He was charged with interfering with
the report of domestic violence, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and assault.”
Former Gov. Sarah Palin spoke about those accusations against Track Palin, suggesting
post-traumatic stress disorder may have been a factor from his service in the army.

HE SOUNDS LIKE THE KENNEDY FOLK WITHOUT THE DROWNING. My hero, Ronald Reagan was a poor parent. Look how screwed up his kids are.
You are both right. I didnt see that this was part of a domestic dispute, so not straight up burglary. And of course Id like to hear his side. I stand corrected. If it had been straight up burglary of a strange house you have to admit it wouldnt be the easily understandable crime like dui after a holiday party or trouble with opiates after a prescribed dose.
You are right. See my previous. I stand corrected.
Thank you. But passing judgement and piety can be an ugly thing.
I know your grandfather must have done the best of his abilities. War changes people.
I hope Track can get his life back together. Sarah’s family have had more than their share of heartache and trials.
I never met the man, he passed away when I was four in 1992.
Didn't even know I was alive..
It was his excessive drinking that ended their marriage and ultimately killed him.
So really, the war never stopped claiming Americans.
I am praying for ALL of them.
this site is turning into TMZ or right scoop. leave them the heck alone. what kind of people have you guys turned into.
Indeed. They need prayers....like most of us do!
FU!
FU!
I am not a fan of the Palio’s. That isn’t a secret here.
In this case I would suggest waiting to hear the whole story. It sounds like he was going home to pick up some stuff. If you are under orders not to go to the house...and you do, this stuff happens.
We don’t know what happened to him, in war. Until we’ve walked in his shoes...just pray he passes through this.
What a sad ending to his life. You’re right...the wars don’t end when the treaties are signed.
Strange chart.
Same here...praying for the ENTIRE family.
Just entering into the house would have broken a court order. Taking anything, even if it was his, would be burglary
