I was just listening to conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt. He sounded pretty confident that Roy Moore is going to lose. He said that there are absolutely no rot Moore signs in Alabama and that the Democrats are super energized. He said this is going to cost president Trump a lot of political capital. Is there anyone in Alabama that can say how things actually are there?
Hugh Hewitt is politically allied with the Never Trump republicans who fed these stories to the WaPo. They’re crap, he’s crap and Judge Moore will win.
I saw Hewitt’s establishment leanings when he was shilling for Romney, not just as the only alternative to Obama, but actually as a purported “good candidate.”
The thing about Hewitt is that he lied about his position during the 2016 election cycle. He was never Trump, but always claimed to be neutral. It was a bald faced lie, but he fed it to his audience daily.
OK. He always talks about Boston and lived in Boston but I stand corrected. But how does he know what they’re thinking in Alabama???
I see plenty of Moore signs in Elmore County, Alabama.
The idea there are none is just another fake media lie.
Sure, they can say they saw none, but they can say they saw bigfoot, too.
North Alabama here.
People don’t put signs out because liberals here are the same that they are everywhere else in this country. Some of them have no reservations about getting mean, nasty, and violent towards people that they disagree with. Nobody needs that. So no signs required, just vote.
Can you loan out your brother for a trip to Vegas ?
You should indeed be worried.
The Compost said there was a 98% chance Hillary would be elected President, and she is now the President.
Looks like Jones is going to be a US Senator.
>> I believe Moore will win but I do not think the senate will seat him <<
The Senate would be required to “seat” Judge Moore, per SCOTUS precedent.
But after he’s seated and after an investigation by the Ethics Committee, the whole Senate could expel him via a 2/3 vote — thus opening the way for the Governor of Alabama to appoint another GOP Senator.
(Too bad Steve Bannon doesn’t live in Alabama, because then the Governor could appoint him. Talk about Cosmic Justice!)
can’t predict ballots from signs in case like this. people are worried about the perception (or even being tagged or targeted) by putting out yard signs. That doesn’t mean wont pull the lever a certain way. They even had to take down ads that tried to intimidate voters into thinking their votes would be known. Why? Because they are well aware that a lot of people who will vote for Moore aren’t saying so
Hugh’s problem is that he is striving to increase audience by being a moderate conservative voice on the liberal networks. (NBC)
Luke Warm never works.
If he is constitutionally eligible (and he is), I don’t believe they can refuse to seat him. They can put him in an ethics investigation, but the ethics committee thus far has been dismissing charges made prior to the person becoming a Senator & the charges against Moore are 40 years old & the so-called “evidence” is melting away daily. There was also a court case that said if the voters know something BEFORE the election & elect anyway, then they have ‘forgiven’ or chosen to ignore those factors when voting. If Moore is elected, as long as he holds firm & refuses to resign, I think they’ll have a tough time getting rid of ‘the will of the AL people’. There has been some backpedaling already with statements like ‘let the AL voters decide’, etc.
I’ll be glad when it is Wednesday and the only images I’ll see of Doug Jones is him conceding defeat, instead 3 political ads every time a commercial break occurs.
I would agree with that assessment.
He’s an elitist. Fancy East Coast schools, hobnobbing with the politically connected, and an overblown sense of self-importance and intelligence.
He had a lot of us fooled for a long time.
Why are you listening to a Never Trumper?
I’ve noticed that, regarding “conservative” talk show hosts, Romney fan always = RINO, and doesn’t like trump. They seem to go hand in hand. The common thread is “GOPe”.
Must See TV.
No conservative her.
