The first that comes to mind for me: "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". Sappy and overly sentimental.
(And while I'm at it, "Titanic")
Things like a German machine gunner blazing away at Fury when everyone was buttoned up inside and another German shooting one of those rockets at the tank missing it when he was just fifty feet from it; and the list goes on.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
E.T. was a ripoff. The creature comes to earth where he is persecuted by the adults and beloved by the children. He performs miracles and has the power to heal. He is finally hunted down and killed by the authorities. After a period he rises and ultimately ascends into the sky, yearning to go home. It seems to me I’ve heard that account somewhere before. I walked out of the theatre bug eyed and shaking my head that Spielberg had the stones to pull that off.
Goodness no. I’ve never seen it.
The early Tim Burton/ Johnny Depp collaborations were brilliant though. Then not.
I made a mistake with the titles.
The movie I was really thinking of was called
American Psycho, starring Christian Bale, a movie which came out in 2000. When I saw a short tape of him in character, dressed in a blood stained white tuxedo, smiling broadly, and swinging a bloody ax, I said then it was not the sort of movie I would ever go to see. Too disturbing.
American Beauty was a completely different movie starring, guess who?
Kevin Spacey.
You’ve probably heard this, that M&Ms was offered the product placement but turned it down.
Did you read the books?
That was SUPER!! LOL’s!!!! Now if I can just gun up my Airbus like that to take care of those stupid Delta jerks .....
Only good scene: Panzerlied
Ah, hence the ‘violence’ comment, which didn’t add up. Yup, both with Keven Spacey. I’ve never seen American Psycho, was thinking about it, but thanks to you will definitely not.
Guardians of the Galaxy. My fellow nerds love it, but I thought it was horrible. Almost walked out. But I hung in, thinking "It's got to get better.". It didn't.
The POS, with Nicole Kidman...is ridiculous, stupid, and since I was trying to watch it on T.V., shut it off happily, about 1/3 way through.
HUH???? The biggest villains were the Billy Zane character and Rose’s mother, and they were both Americans.
I dislike almost anything Hollywood puts out. A few years back I listened to my cottage neighbour go on and on and on about this unbelievably fabulous movie. If I watched it I would like it for sure, etc. My sister and I sat through it and just looked at each other when it ended. I was so mad to waste my time. It was about some fighting woman....Million Dollar Woman? Million Dollar Baby? Something like that. So. Stupid.
Now there is an actor who has wasted his talents.
In my opinion the last good movie he did (maybe the only good movie) was Hollywood Cop.
Climate change.
His Alice In Wonderland movies STINK ON ICE!
... AND the cadaverous “security man” for Billy Zane’s character, who was also portrayed as a total villain, leaving Jack shackled in a room to die when he knew the ship was sinking... he was supposed to be American, too, wasn’t he? I don’t understand how anyone could say that movie presented Americans as only heroes.
A Room With a View. Boring
Around the World in 80 Days. I cannot sit through it.
