My pigskin prognostications for this week:
- New Orleans at Atlanta: Atlanta is desperate. New Orleans isn't. The Saints keep winning but I sense some weakness. They got a gift from Washington three weeks ago, go beaten by the Rams, and bounced back against the Panthers. Not dominating though anymore. The home team that is desperate is usually a good bet. Atlanta Wins
- Chicago and Cincinnati: Last week the Bengals showed up for a football game and a no holds barred match of full contact roller derby broke out instead. They lost that one. This week they bounce back. Bengals Win
- Detroit at Tampa Bay: Tampa is toast, Detroit is close to it but I think they are the better squad and the more desperate. Lions Win
- Green Bay at Cleveland: Rodgers could come back soon, Pack needs wins desperately to keep themselves alive for his return. Can he save their season? Only if they win this week. Fortunately for cheeseheads, they will. Packers win
- Indianapolis at Buffalo: I cannot pick the Colts again this year. Buffalo wins
- Minnesota at Carolina: Can Minnesota win out? I doubt it. Is Case Keenum for real? Looks the part but I'm still skeptical. Can Carolina beat the Vikings? Desperate team at home theory kicking in again. Panthers win
- Oakland at Kansas City: Andy Reid decided to give up playcalling for this week. I've seen this before, usually that means his team will run the ball a little for once and the opposing defense will not expect that at all. Look for the Chef's to bounce back this week. Chefs win
- San Francisco at Houston: Colin Kaepernick was THIS close to winning Time Magazine Man of the Year, but lost to nobody in particular. In a show of solidarity, San Francisco loses too. Texans Win
- Dallas at NY Giants: Teams that quit on their head coach and then see him fired mid season sometimes bounce back with an emotional win to make a statement. But the Giants just don't have the weapons. Dallas wins
- NY Jets at Denver: Game of the week material here. Jets have played a bit better so I'll give them the edge. Jets Win
- Tennessee at Arizona: I think Tennessee is a mediiocre team but the Cardinals are a bad one. Titans Win
- Washington at LA Chargers: Chargers were left for dead in week four but they've been quietly stacking up wins and getting back in it. Redskins on the other hand are racking up embarassing losses. Chargers win
- Philadelphia at LA Rams: I said last week that I thought Philly was getting too cocky. They got their butts handed to them so that's over with. Rams are every bit as hot as Philly has been, this will be a good game. LA has no home field advantage so take that out of it. Philly is now trailing Vikings in the race to top seed and they need to bounce back lest they begin to doubt themselves. I think that even at 10-2 they are the more desperate team in this match. Eagles win
- Seattle at Jacksonville: Seattle is a two man team at this point (Russel Wilson and Bobby wagner) but they are two REALLY good players. Big win over Philly last week but honestly most of their offense was "wilson runs around then chucks it downfield and gets pass interference, do it again until you score". That model works at home where you get all the calls. Not so sure it plays in Jacksonville. On the other hand, Jaguars still have no offense. Going out on a limb here and saying Jaguars Win
- Baltimore at Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh got into a slug fest last week and now they get to face Baltimore. Stock up on Mercurochrome and Ben Gay, fellas. I still think Steelers Win
- New England at Miami: New England continues it's annual cake walk through the AFC East with a win in Miami. Jay Cutler will shrug and say "whatever".Patriots win

Thanks for the thread Impy.
From Pittsburgh, the news on Ryan Shazier is not good. Prayers for him. To the right wing virtue signalers, he was not a kneeler.
My wife (neurologist) recognized it immediately. She thought it was a C7 burst fracture. We will see.
