...Experts said the well-equipped washrooms, dating back about 2,300 years, were a part of an imperial palace. They were once fitted with exquisite tiles and sophisticated sewage system. ...
The remains of the luxurious facilities were discovered more than two metres below the ground on the archaeological site of the Ancient Liyang City near modern-day Xi'an, reported People's Daily Online, citing Xi'an Evening News.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yep. The first time I toured Europe I was appalled at the unzipping and peeing on the sides of downtown buildings in London, Paris, Rome, etc as well as out in the smaller towns and countryside. At least these big white plastic contraptions will keep the amber stink and stains off the foundations of the buildings. The pissoirs being so visible, they might actually deter the ancient practice of public peeing by males "because they can."
I live in a suburban house that backs onto a large wooded area. When the community-hired grounds crew comes around to edge the sidewalks and remove leaves, one or more of the Mexican workers cuts through my yard and stands at the crest of the hill behind my house to pee into the foresttotally visible from my kitchen. Sunlight on the glass prevents people outside from seeing into houses in the daylight, but people inside the houses can clearly see what's going on outside.
