It doesn't really if you take care of yourself and exercise. If you don't do that it can be hell. One of my friends is 56 and is now paralyzed on his left side from a stroke but for years he overate like crazy, was extremely overweight, never exercised, now he's all messed up. Then I got another friend who is 64 and runs marathons which is amazing to me because I'm 55 and can barely run 3 miles as my knees are too effed up to run any further, but he's been doing it so long he can run that far. He just did the New York city marathon a few weeks ago and a few days later he was out running again, amazing. It's amazing how much a difference exercise makes. When Jack LaLanne was 70 he towed 70 rowboats filled with 70 people a mile and a half in the San Francisco bay while handcuffed and shackled. I don't even know 20 year olds who could do that.

People live long lives because their genetic code lets them. Others live short lives due to fragile genes. Your fate is pretty much determined at conception.

For those (like me) who just aren’t going to run marathons, walking is a great way to stay youngish. I am 51 and walk at least three miles a day. It definitely helps keep me youngish.

Bull farking crap!
My Dad was an athlete and Marathon runner till the day he died at 62, He was 57 when he had the 1st heart attack.
I don’t buy into the genetics BS either.
His twin brother who lead an IDENTICAL Lifestyle died at 76 from respiratory failure.

I can name you at least 25 people who I know who exercised and ran or did other sports who cant any more because of the knee and hip replacements they needed when their joints wore out from all the use. As my bone doc friend used to say, I am treating lawyers with the bones and joints of end of life mill workers
