I saw the replay of this today on Fox & Friends. I thought this was just poking fun at BOTH Hillary and Donald. It was not in the same vein as Hollywood or late night hosts.
It was just light humor. I would not think badly of either country performer because of this.
I watched 5 minutes of it and couldn’t believe it was CMA. Looked like some Hollywood crap fest.
It was just good-natured jabbing.

Garth Brooks wins Entertainer of the Year? I thought he retired. Brooks killed country music. It does not exist anymore. This show was a fraud.
I didn’t watch. Please tell me Darius Rucker didn’t join in the slamming. I LOVE his voice. The richest voice in forever.

Didn’t see that part of the show. I did however watch the tribute to the entertainers and Las Vegas murder victims. I thought it was very moving and Carrie Underwood sang it with God in her heart.
Country music and artists have gone hollywood. The songs really suck these days with few exceptions like Midland. They are awesome, genuine country sound.
By the way, I never heard this song by Dwight Yoakam until recently. it’s an old country song and has become my favorite country song ever. Sorry George Strait.
The fiddle, steel guitar, everything just comes at you from all angles. And the voice.....pure country.

With speculation and fan outrage swirling on Twitter, Garth Brooks admitted backstage at the CMA Awards that he lip-synced his performance of “Ask Me How I Know” before winning the night’s highest honor for the second year in a row (and sixth time overall).
“We’re in the middle of 12 shows in 10 days. Not 10 shows in 12 days, 12 shows in 10 days,” he explained, per People magazine. “We did a game-time call on whether to sing the track or lip-sync, and decided to lip-sync. The voice just isn’t there anymore, and you want to represent country music as best you can.”
