Why fly?
It’s already like this sometimes.
I had a tiny jar (sealed) of peanut butter from the Dollar Store. They would not permit me to take it in my luggage without going to some faraway office on a faraway floor to ‘discuss it’. In the dumper it went. Not worth the hassle.
Thanks again to Islam, the religion of peace that makes everything it touches suck more.
Maybe their scanner was on the fritz.
Obviously, airline investors feel that they have too much business and would like to take a break from their hard work. And apparently, folks who are paid by the government feel that they’re getting too much in revenues from airlines.
Anyway, those are the sacrifices for being safe while not having the will to properly fight and finish a foreign war that would end with many more civilian casualties. For police work to be effective as a substitute for war, passengers and everyone else must give up a few rights.
How many more of our freedoms do we have to give up to make America safe for Muslim immigration?
And of course, the Senators and Congressmen who created this monstrosity are exempt from these searches.
Thankfully, I’ve signed up for TSA Pre. With any luck, I’ll be able to bypass such nonsense.
We have to take our shoes off because of the muslin guy on the plane who tried to light his sport shoes on fire.
Stupid waste is time...
The only benefit (and it doesn’t outweigh the drawbacks) is that now the vast majority of people at the gates are flyers. In the old days everyone and their great aunt Sadie we’re at the gates to greet or send off travellers. And a bunch of pickpockets and panhandler types too.
This is one of the reasons we are driving to FL for our vacation and not flying.
The TSA is going to kill the airline industry.
Back in the late 70’s when I first got saved, a co-worker of mine was making comments about the rising gas prices as the government’s way of trying to control us and force us to stay where we were and not travel. He said it was easier to control people when they weren’t free to move around as they wished.
It sounded kooky then but I have always remembered it and as I’ve watched things unfold over the last 40 years and how the government has WAY overreached it’s bounds, I have always considered that he was right.
MY one daughter will take the train when she has the opportunity.
It can be slow but it is MUCH more convenient and comfortable.
Went through TPA last Friday.Left on coat shoes.Didn’t take anything out of backback that had electronic items and quart sized liquid and gel zip lock.Personally didn”t go through Xray machine.
I don’t fly for any trip less than 2,500 miles one way. Makes all but part of N. Oregon and Washington State in range - and have no need to go there....
I very recently flew and took a rather large healthy lunch along. I found out that food is now subject to special screening. Thank goodness I was very early because I had to wait about 1/2 hr before my food was screened and checked for explosives. Heaven only knows what the bad guys are now up to. Creeps me out to think of what might be in the checked baggage hold of the airplane.
