I flew out out of MCO this afternoon. I was in a security screening line that was not moving.
After about 10 minutes of literally not moving a foot, I heard "all the people in the left two lines are getting a preview of screening in 2018, all food, electronics, candies and anything larger than a cell phone must be removed from your carry on luggage".
I snuck over to a different line and got through, but this means the TSA theatre will now require that you remove everything from your carry on. My DSLR camera, lenses and flash are priority #1! Your bag of swedish fish make you a security risk!
This security theatre needs to end. sigh.
Why fly?
It’s already like this sometimes.
I had a tiny jar (sealed) of peanut butter from the Dollar Store. They would not permit me to take it in my luggage without going to some faraway office on a faraway floor to ‘discuss it’. In the dumper it went. Not worth the hassle.
Thanks again to Islam, the religion of peace that makes everything it touches suck more.
I quit flying. I no longer go to Hawaii. I drive coast to coast though it kills my back and takes 4 times longer. I actually love the flying part (bigger planes) but HATE the TSA.
Maybe their scanner was on the fritz.
had to fly last winter for a wedding....not pleasant...of course, it was PHL.
Obviously, airline investors feel that they have too much business and would like to take a break from their hard work. And apparently, folks who are paid by the government feel that they’re getting too much in revenues from airlines.
Anyway, those are the sacrifices for being safe while not having the will to properly fight and finish a foreign war that would end with many more civilian casualties. For police work to be effective as a substitute for war, passengers and everyone else must give up a few rights.
I agree.
Just stop flying.
After all it’s not in the Constitution.
If you really have to get there on time, rely on yourself and drive.
I quit flying, too. I’m old enough to remember being able to arrive an hour before takeoff, buy a ticket, and climb aboard. Sad, those days are forever gone.
Why fly?
Exactly, I racked up over a million miles. But now I fly maybe once a year. If I can drive I do it. If I can handle it over the phone I do that. The more I avoid the airport the better I feel. Its a huge waste of time. And I hate not knowing what crap they are going to have a problem with this time.
Airlines need to understand that there are several people who are just not going to Europe. because of crime. And they aren’t getting on short routes because of the TSA. The economy is good. But flying goes right along with the NFL, movies and liberal cites. You just don’t have to o. So stay home or drive to a national park. Its a quiet boycott of liberal stupidity.
How many more of our freedoms do we have to give up to make America safe for Muslim immigration?
And of course, the Senators and Congressmen who created this monstrosity are exempt from these searches.
Thankfully, I’ve signed up for TSA Pre. With any luck, I’ll be able to bypass such nonsense.
One could run down the concourse, jump the velvet line cables and get on board at THE last moment, ala OJ.
Or just schlep along in the Eastern Airlines Shuttle line until a seat was available at the gate. Pay on the plane. $13 off peak, $16 on Peak...
We have to take our shoes off because of the muslin guy on the plane who tried to light his sport shoes on fire.
They would still require a cavity search.
