Ive been hearing from news reporters for major news organizations, who ask, Whats in the new JFK files? Is there a smoking gun?
The answer is no. There is no one piece of evidence in the 113,00 pages of JFK records scheduled to be released by October 26, 2017, that will change peoples minds...
But the new JFK files, if released in their entirety, will fill in the two key gaps in the JFK assassination story that have long been obscured by government misconduct, official secrecy, and lazy journalism.
Think of the JFK assassination story as an incomplete mosaic. The new files help complete the picture in two ways.
The new files shed light on the CIAs use of Lee Oswald for intelligence purposes before November 22, 1963. They also illuminate the illegal actions of government officials to conceal the CIAs manipulation of Oswald and its plot to kill Fidel Castro in late 1963....
The CIAs Use of Oswald:
The new files strengthen the claimlong denied by the CIA and mainstream news organizationsthat the agency used accused assassin Lee Oswald for intelligence purposes.
Part of the story was brought to light the JFK review board in the 1990s when they released, a complete version of one of the agencys many pre-assassination cables on Oswald. It was prepared by Jame Angletons Counterintelligence Staff on October 10, 1963.
More of the story is coming in the testimony of Orest Pena, a New Orleans bar owner who said he saw Oswald in the company of a senior FBI agents in the summer of 1963. The Pena testimony was not included in the first batch of National Archives releases last week.
The newly-declassified financial records of the CIA front group, the Cuban Revolutionary Council, are also relevant, as Larry explains at The New JFK Show Blog. In his turn as a public supporter of Castro in the summer of 1963, Oswald had repeated contacts with people associated with the CRC. I will be writing more about these records in comings weeks.
Meanwhile, intelligence historian John Newman has already begun to use the new files to develop the granular knowledge of CIA covert operations and cryptonyms necessary to tell this story.
The Criminal Cover-up:
The JFK release last week includes a great deal of material about Russian defector Yuri Nosenko, who claimed to have seen Oswalds KGB file. The veracity of Nosenkos claims in the face of CIA interrogation is a key issue that requires deeper analysis, as Newsweek has already reported.
Key documents to come include the still-unreleased testimony of Angleton to the Church Committee on September 12, 1975.
Also important are the operational files of CIA officers hostile to JFK who were involved in assassination operations including Bill Harvey, David Phillips, and Howard Hunt.
None of these files were included in the first Archives release.
One good turn deserves another! Right!
Fidel Castro was a target of the CIAs secret armies dozens of times from 1959-2000. Their never-ending failure to oust Fidel Castro from power kept Havana on edge. Castro would have every reason to to retaliate.
Castro grooming Oswald as the presumed assassin was first promoted by CIA propagandists in Miami 11/24/63. It would validate Oswalds motive by linking his desire to block Kennedys goal to assassinate Castro or overthrow the Cuban government. But the Oswald-Cuban letters turned out to be bogus and that theory quickly loss momentum.
Russian involvement at Dealey Plaza has not been a real popular theory.
So you believe a Soviet Bloc defector over Ronald Reagan.
Why am I not surprised?

So, tell me, why on earth would Markus Wolfe, a Stasi operative and spymaster, point fingers at Castro when asked about the subject? He obviously wouldn’t have been on the CIA’s payroll, so he really isn’t doing it to aid them in any propaganda efforts? And besides, somehow, I don’t think the Mitrokhin Archives would have been written by the CIA, and if anything were more likely to be written by the KGB seeing how, you know, they CAME from the KGB archives. And the Mitrokhin Archives definitely confirmed that, at the very least the Soviets WERE involved in much of the disinformation campaign regarding the Kennedy Assassination, something that wouldn’t make any sense at all if they were truly not involved in any way in that event.
“So you believe a Soviet Bloc defector over Ronald Reagan.
Why am I not surprised?”
So why don’t you believe Pacepa, then? This isn’t just your run of the mill Soviet Bloc defector, this guy had been invaluable for covering the exact extent of various Soviet intelligence operations, including why Che Guevara is a leftist icon rather than in the dustbin of history where he belongs, how the anti-Vietnam crowd managed to get as much prevalence as it did, the whole demonization of Pope Pius XII as a Nazi supporter, and all of that shebang, or at the very least managed to confirm definitively that they were indeed Soviet KGB operations (heck, he actually helped PLAN several of them).
And for the record, I have no problem with Ronald Reagan. I even think he’s among our best presidents, but that DOESN’T mean he is completely right about everything. As a matter of fact, Pacepa was VERY careful to avoid inferring that Morris and Jack Childs were deliberately trying to BS the FBI or anyone else. So again, I really don’t understand what your beef is against Pacepa?
“...why on earth would Markus Wolfe, a Stasi operative and spymaster, point fingers at Castro when asked about the subject?”
IDK.
“so he really isnt doing it to aid them in any propaganda efforts?”
My comment was not referring to Wolfe, in particular but to other operatives, like the ones that maintained Oswald’s 201 file.- The Ghost.
“...at the very least the Soviets WERE involved in much of the disinformation campaign regarding the Kennedy Assassination, something that wouldnt make any sense at all if they were truly not involved in any way in that event.”
Not necessarily. Never let a crisis go to waste. And we had a biggie.

I love RR, but not sure what interest or disinterest he had in JFK. Nor what classified information was shared with him or the other presidents that followed.
As for government agents and spies- they are in the business of lying and not revealing the truth unless it benefits their interest. There’s plenty of disinformation and redirection in all aspects of their business. It’s just the nature of the beast.

I checked out the —> JFK Declassified: Tracking Oswald. It confirms the material found elsewhere. He was a flop for a KGB spy, never going to make it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6830318/
This guy, Garcia, he’s a combination of anti-Castro Cuban hate & the Mob. A two-fer. I’d bet he was active at Dealey Plaza-—
Herminio Diaz Garcia
Herminio Diaz Garcia was born in Cuba in 1923. He was a member of the Cuban Restaurant Workers Union and worked as a cashier at the Hotel Habana-Rivera. Later he became involved in illegal activities and eventually became a bodyguard for Santos TRAFFICANTE.
Diaz Garcia killed Pipi Hernandez in 1948 at the Cuban Consulate in Mexico.
In 1957 he was involved with an assassination attempt against the President of Costa Rica - Jose Figures.
Diaz Garcia moved to the United States in July, 1963, where he worked for Tony Varona (CRC.)
Some believe that Diaz Garcia was one of the gunman who killed Pres. Kennedy.
In December, 1963, Dia Garcia was involved in an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Fidel Castro.
He was also involved in providing weapons to anti-Castro groups.
Diaz Garcia was killed on a mission at Monte Barreto in the Miramar district of Cuba on 29th May, 1966.
Coupled with the knowledge that there were spies in the anti-Castro community in Miami that knew about the plot to kill Kennedy, my moneys on him and his fellow countrymen.

The Alibaba was called out by LCVMPD as a site from which they had identified shots fired.
Literally hundreds of witnesses from the festival saw “security guards” shooting at people.
Dead bodies were strewn on the sidewalks over a mile from the festival. They obviously didn’t crawl there from the festival.
Have you watched any of the witness interviews?
The FBI’s false narrative is simply not going to satisfy anybody. reality has a life of its own.

Never left. How about you?

Maybe, but the fact that Markus Wolf and Ion Mihai Pacepa, both high-level Soviet bloc personnel, have pointed in the direction of either Cuba or the USSR definitely suggests that it’s not unreasonable to assume they definitely had a hand in it.
“...at the very least the Soviets WERE involved in much of the disinformation campaign regarding the Kennedy Assassination, something that wouldnt make any sense at all if they were truly not involved in any way in that event.

Yeah, the whole “never let a crisis go to waste” thing can only get you so far, and last I checked, they didn’t bother with disinformation with the Cuban Missile Crisis at all (and believe me, if they wanted to, they most certainly could pull off a disinformation campaign regarding that, especially when that one was clearly a crisis. Heck, they turned Che Guevara into a leftist hero even though he if anything nearly caused a massive black stain on the Soviets’ reputation for trying to start a nuclear war.). And other than saving their hides from getting caught, I really fail to see how it would have been even remotely necessary for the Soviets to do a disinformation campaign.
“So you believe a Soviet Bloc defector over Ronald Reagan.

Yeah, agreed. Ronald Reagan may be one of our best presidents ever, but he’s not omniscient. He can’t actually know all classified information that went on.
“As for government agents and spies- they are in the business of lying and not revealing the truth unless it benefits their interest. Theres plenty of disinformation and redirection in all aspects of their business. Its just the nature of the beast.”
Maybe so, but the KGB and Soviets took disinformation to a whole other level, practically thriving on it. Ion Mihai Pacepa makes this clear in his Disinformation book (and the DVD if I must point out).
Amending the comment I made in the later post—
“Castro grooming Oswald as the presumed assassin was first promoted by CIA propagandists in Miami 11/24/63.”
Should read: “Castro & Oswald as presumed assassins was first PAID for and promoted by CIA propagandist in Miami 11/23/1963.”
The original propaganda pieces were created within HOURS of Kennedy’s death since they began distributing flyers in Miami churches and running radio ads on November 23, 1963. Wicked Fast work for a bunch of ex-pats, many who spoke little or broken English.
******Who paid for the first JFK conspiracy theory? by Jeff Morley Aug 22, 2014*****
The answer: certain employees of the U.S. governments Central Intelligence Agency, otherwise known as the CIA.
Within hours of JFKs death on November 22, 1963, members of the Cuban Student Directorate, a CIA-funded organization based in Miami, linked suspected assassin Lee Oswald to Cuban president Fidel Castro. They were the presumed assassins. The allegation was published in a special edition of the groups publication, Trinchera (Trenches) dated November 23, 1963.
This was the first JFK conspiracy theory to reach public print. According to declassified records, it was paid for by a decorated undercover CIA officer, the late George Joannides.
The leaders of the Directorate, also known by its Spanish acronym DRE, received $51,000 a month from the CIA, according to this April 1963 memo found in the JFK Library in Boston.
Within the CIA, the Directorate was known by the code name AMSPELL. The group was conceived, created and funded by the Agency in September 1960 and terminated in December 1966, according to a CIA memo, dated April 1967.
Members were used through 1966 as political action agents for publishing propaganda and producing radio propaganda and special propaganda campaigns, the CIA memo states.
Joannides served as chief of psychological warfare operations in the CIAs Miami station. He also handled contacts with the DRE, according to his July 31, 1963, job evaluation. In return for CIA support, the group engaged in intelligence collection, political action and propaganda.
The DREs post-assassination scoop publication emphasized the pro-Castro remarks that Oswald had made during debate on a New Orleans radio program with DRE delegate Carlos Bringuier three months before. Oswald had been exposed as a communist and now he had killed the president.
He and Castro, the group declared, were the presumed assassins. The DRE used its international network to publicize the charge throughout Latin America, according to this document found in the DRE Papers at the University of Miami library.
What Joannides thought of the DREs use of CIA funds to publicize its view of Oswald is unknown. The CIA recently admitted for the first time that Joannides maintained a residence in New Orleans as part of his assignment in 1962-64.
The publication was handed out to worshippers arriving at a Catholic Church on Key Biscayne on the morning of November 24, 1963. A FBI agent in the crowd took a copy and filed it at the office.
Thus the first JFK conspiracy theory was published within 48 hours of Kennedys murder, and the CIA had paid for it.

.
He loves to put it in!
.
Actually, you’re wrong about that. It’s not the first JFK conspiracy theory. If anything, the KGB’s disinformation campaign was the first JFK conspiracy theory. Don’t believe me? Read this:
https://pjmedia.com/mihaipacepa/2013/11/20/the-new-proof-of-the-kgbs-hand-in-jfks-assassination/
In fact, I’ll even direct you to the exact passage where Pacepa confirms such was the case:
“According to new KGB documents, which became available after Programmed to Kill was published, the Soviet effort to deflect attention away from the KGB regarding the Kennedy assassination began on November 23, 1963the very day after Kennedy was killedand it was introduced by a memo to the Kremlin signed by KGB chairman Vladimir Semichastny. He asked the Kremlin immediately to publish an article in a progressive paper in one of the Western countries exposing the attempt by reactionary circles in the USA to remove the responsibility for the murder of Kennedy from the real criminals, [i.e.,] the racists and ultra-right elements guilty of the spread and growth of violence and terror in the United States.”
That memo, from what he said, was released a full 24 hours AFTER the JFK murder at the latest, predating even the DRE group’s memo you cited.
After the world received the news, every nation affected by the issue would craft their response. The USSR memo dictated that articles were published somewhere (NYT< WaPo? ) It’s to be expected- SOP to have done so.
And this is just the typical Communist Soviet Leftist spiel to blame Kennedy’s death on American interests they fear the most. “He asked the Kremlin immediately to publish an article in a progressive paper in one of the Western countries exposing the attempt by reactionary circles in the USA to remove the responsibility for the murder of Kennedy from the real criminals, [i.e.,] the racists and ultra-right elements guilty of the spread and growth of violence and terror in the United States.
So they blame it on the racist and right-wingers and try to tamp down Oswald’s USSR connection, even though he had been a complete wash-out over there with exception of the Russian wife. But in the end, it was the Cuban Commie activities which they tied him to for cementing his guilt: FPCC & DRE with plenty of willing accomplices.
The CIA could have sold Oswald as the ‘assassin’ three ways: Lone Nut Weird Guy, Russian-Commie loving turncoat, or Cuba-loving Castro Commie Puppet. Or a combo of the aforementioned.
However, for the our own CIA to thwart an investigation, is not to be expected. The CIA’s directions were not a memo. Quite the opposite since they wanted no fingers directed at them. There had been no direct paper trail to the Agency for this publication until just recently with the release of more of the JFK files and leads pursued to JMWAVE. And that IS the point of this thread, digging out the truth of their involvement.
The DRE related paper was published & circulated within 12 hours of his death. There’s a copy of one attached to the link provided and the organization was funded by the Agency. And the radio announcements began. It carried a great deal of weight in regards to the public perception and the WCR.
Had this misdirection by the CIA been revealed at the time of the investigations, the WCR would not have been published.
O/T, the Johnson desertion theory is really starting to get that Occam’s whiff to it.
True. He was a mile away and the letter gives a motive. Still, not all racists and haters are traitors.

It’s more than just the Russian wife that connects him to the Soviets, though: There’s also the historic diary he had on him, his use of code words and even his contacts.
And as far as your claim regarding the CIA, if they really didn’t want to leave behind a paper trail, then they did a pretty bad job since we already know a few of their operations as it is (think about, if the CIA truly didn’t want a paper trail, how on earth would we know about the Bay of Pigs, or the U2 flights, or Operation Phoenix, or any of the other operations we do know?).
Lastly, I should remind you that the Soviets could have easily spun disinformation to make it out as if America tried to nuke themselves via Cuba and downplay JFK’s victory, not letting a crisis of any sort go to waste as you yourself stated. Yet they didn’t do that, I wonder why... In fact, the closest the Soviets EVER got to a flat out disinformation campaign regarding the Cuban Missile Crisis was when they managed to turn Che Guevara into a leftist patron saint after his Bolivia misadventure, and that was despite the fact that he if anything outright humiliated the Soviets with his nearly causing a full-scale nuclear war and cutting him loose. Considering they managed to really wash their hands with Stalin after news of his bad actions came out with the Secret Speech, it says a lot that they’d practically lionize him of all people despite having even MORE of a PR disaster for Communism with his radicalism than Stalin did. If they really wanted to spew any lies that downplayed the United States, even if they weren’t truly a threat to the USSR, they would have easily done with the Cuban Missile Crisis. No, it’s pretty clear that the Soviets were doing that disinformation thing with JFK for the exact same reason as why they did disinformation during World War II with Katyn: To save their own butts.
Exactly. I can’t believe there is nothing damaging to some people in the documents based on the number of shills I have seen over the years bashing and trying to insult people into silence that don’t believe the government version as it was dished up.
