Not to worry.
If we can control the earth's climate by switching light bulbs we can surely alter the eruption cycle of a measly supervolcano.
Perhaps if we ate less red meat?

“Most recent suggestion was for all Yellowstone visitors to throw icecubes into the crater...”
Crater? There is a Yellowstone crater?
I’ve never seen it.
Been there dozens of times and live 80 miles away.
I also have a beautiful chunk of lava from the last time it blew - it was unearthed at about 30’ below ground level on an excavation job. It’s really something!

This sounds like a job for the professor.

This is totally fake news. If you go to the original National Geographic article, the researchers are NOT saying it will blow up sooner than they thought, just that we would have less warning time before it does.

I thought this was what they said last year. And the year before. And the year before that. And it was Bush’s fault.

And reducing our carbon footprint will prevent this HOW, exactly?

In other news, a giant asteroid could hit the earth and destroy all civilization. Venus could be populated by a race of giant sulfur-eating slugs. Dolphins may have psychic powers and just refuse to communicate with us because they are jerks. You serious, Clark?

Volcanos need to register with the state volcano agency and are not allowed to erupt without two weeks warning.. :-)

At least there isn't a push for emergency legislation to prevent it. Yet.
