My assumptions:
(1) The shooter's location should have been immediately apparent to LEOs.
(2) The volume of shooting and the mass casualties should have given LEOs an extreme sense of both importance and urgency.
A 72-minute response-time does not correlate with either (1) or (2).
In my absence of information, it smacks of LEO commanders carefully planning a tactical approach, getting all the details right before proceeding, when in hindsight what was needed was a quick rush of the door--in seven minutes, not seventy-two. What am I missing?
With the technology the have today the police should have been able to snipe him out from the ground in 10 minutes tops. He was shooting out of a broken window. So finding him should not have been a problem.
“I, too, would like to here LEOs reasons for the 72 minute response time.”
Had to run it by lawyers first...ROE’S don’t you know.
You are missing more than you can ever possibly know or understand.
So, while I try, never to insult people on a personal level when commenting on things like this, you should just STFU and go play with yourself.
“Did they know how many people were in the room? On the hotel floor?”
Doesnt matter. Get armed men there immediately.
Agreed. So 72 minutes becomes even more inexplicable. Their incident planning and execution stinks—all the more so with an outdoor concert underway. Really?
Could the second window have been smashed out from the explosive entry?
With loud music, complete chaos, people running and screaming, sound echoing off buildings all around the site, do you think it just might be a little difficult to locate the source?
Did LVMPD have the ‘Batman spotlight’ to light up the sky to search for a location given that it was 37 stories up, in the pitch black, due to the ground lights effecting ones night vision?
Was the scumbag using a sniper technique where he wasn’t sticking the muzzle of the weapon out of the window and maybe even having a drape or curtain to obscure and hide his muzzle flash?
During the attack in Dallas, the scumbag took an elevated position. And due to echoes, etc, it was hard to determine his location until he started shooting at cops that thought they were behind cover. That’s when they learned that he was above them.
effing slackers, them.
“VERY many people died at Columbine while the macho SWAT team cowered and wet their collective pants.”
But they are pretty good at enforcing smoking bans.
Shooter fired thru door, wounded one security guard.
“Another HUGE mistake at Columbine:
Dispatch told all terrified kids calling into 911, Youve got to STAY INSIDE.
Well, uh....WHY..?”
And then when the poor kids came out the heroes made all the kids put their hands up like they were criminals.Just the same after the Boston marathon bombing when they went door to door and terrorized a whole bunch of normal home owners.
is the trolling this week especially good for you?
sheesh
“Sometimes Dirty Harry is right”
Dirty Harry was always right. So was Paul Kersey.
Same swat as aurora theatre. Waited till the shooting stopped.
Same swat as aurora theatre. Waited till the shooting stopped.
“The same thing happened at Sandy Hook. They assembled away from the school before attempting to enter.”
And then they argued over who would go in first,..for an hour.
“How does it take 72 MINUTES to crash that shooter’s door???”
Dude, do you know how hard it is to find 4 dozen donuts at 11pm?
I heard that the suite door was penetrated at 22 minutes.
“Another HUGE mistake at Columbine:
Dispatch told all terrified kids calling into 911, Youve got to STAY INSIDE.
Well, uh....WHY..?
Inside was where the shooting was taking place, outside was more or less safe.
The people calling in to the cops had at least as much info as dispatch at that point, and that was still true 3 hours later.
“
Wasnt that disgeacful? Thats the “shelter in place” PC bull shit in operation. Its like the cops saying you stay in there
and when its safe we’ll come in. And oh by the way, put your hands up.
Welp, I stuck around and stayed engaged as the OP for two full hours, but now I’m moving on to the rest of my evening. I expect another mocker or two will emerge—they can’t help themselves, even the ones who claim to be guided by their Lord—but I do hope more light than heat is present here with the dawn of another day, if the Lord so blesses us.
The first question I had when I heard about the shooting and the hour and 15 minutes to take an elevator up to an identified room! Best hope we get some answers before the FBI Evidence Destruction and Cover up team gets there.
