Hey Rog, olde boy , are you also proud of these “Players”:
https://www.usatoday.com/sports/nfl/arrests/
Have you ever heard of the words “Accountability or Responsibility”? How about “Decency”?
I be there are NFL meetings going on right now with Goodell saying something like “Why are we not 50 points ahead?”
“think we need to move beyond boycotting and hold some large demonstrations “
Agreed. Tailgate party/demonstration time.
Question...... Will it spread to college ball?
Yep.
Bad calculation on their part, because my country means more to me than all of their teams combined and everyone in them.
In fact, their behavior has forced me to realize that their existence means absolutely nothing to me.
Goodell can be proud. His choice.
My choice?
I’ve hit the Ignore button on the entire league. Too much good college football still avaaible to put up with prima donnas....or BS.
“Im LIVID that he is not calling out the shameful persons who kneeled for the Star Spangled Banner in England.”
Goodall?!
I don’t think many here are surprised enough to be LIVID.
I wish the long-term FR trolls continuing their “I wish Trump would stop tweeting” campaign would STFU.
I believe the REAL hit will come around Christmas time.
Merchandising is the name of the game and I don’t see ANYONE who loves their country spending money on ANY NFL product for the Holidays.
Rush sounded like me. It was a very sad day for me. I know some aren’t into football but it was something I played growing up into college and just loves the escape. It didn’t hurt being able to root for Brady and Belichick for the past couple of decades.
And we make it a family affair. My daughters are all grown (in college and/or graduated) and come over on Sundays with all kinds of drinks and food and we just chill.
I texted them at 10AM when I saw Kraft’s statement and told them I will not be watching football. It was very sad as if something ended. And I just did some yard work. I’ll get used to it.
I will miss the family aspect, as my daughters are fans and refuse to follow my lead so the’ll watch it elsewhere. For this I am so angry at the players and officials who did this.
I was going to say that President Trump kicked off this weekend by tossing a hand grenade into the NFL cartel, but that's really not what happened here. He just pointed out that the NFL has been playing with live hand grenades for several years now ... and they resent him for it because now they have to do something about it.
Thanks for posting that - and a big thumb’s up to that guy!
Goodell is just the representative of the owners. Whatever comes out of his mouth is essentially what a majority of NFL owners want him to say. As such, I don’t care about the man as he’s just a puppet. I care about what he says as I hold all the owners accountable or it because he is their agent.
He is either truly tone deaf or has decided to go the Goebbels route and spread the Big Lie.
Either way, the NFL is dead to me.
And every Edsel owner is proud of what they own too.
You should go ahead and have the family gathering, without football. My husband quit watching NFL games when they were recruiting criminals, and the knee thing started. We had a Superbowl party last year without the game. Was a lot of fun!
Ah yes, the Pontiac Silverdome.
Imagine if you will (Rod Serling voice) a restaurant that ENCOURAGES its employees to lecture and insult its customers (not in a gimmicky way) and insists on raising prices every year despite the fact its food is getting exponentially worse....sound like a good business model?
So yet again, our President is the smartest guy in the room: With one Tweet, he forces the idiots to double down on their zhitty behavior and out themselves.
BTW, I’m STILL waiting to see that quote where the NFL OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZES that these protests are seen as disrespectful by millions of fans.
A former Bama player kneeled on foreign soil. I have a picture of him at my son’s high school graduation. He even posed for a picture with one of my daughters. It burns me up when I think about all the folks I know and love and who are serving in hot spots around the world. One of my sons intimated that these NFL antics are not going over very well. I think the president brought it to a head quickly.
Maybe some of these disgruntled players will head over to the police chiefs in their areas and start an appropriate conversation about police brutality in Baltimore and St Louis and Cleveland and and and. But don’t belittle those who have sacrificed to eradicate slavery and Jim Crow and Hitler and and and.
