LeBron James called Donald Trump a "bum" after the US President rescinded an invitation for Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry to go to the White House.
Trump tweeted Saturday that Curry is no longer invited to the White House because of what the president called hesitation by the two-time NBA MVP in deciding whether to make the traditional champions' trip to Washington.
That prompted an angry response from Cleveland Cavaliers star James.
James tweeted: "U bum. Stephen Curry already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honour until you showed up!"
Trump's comment on Curry came one day after the president told NFL owners to fire players who won't stand for the national anthem.
It was not immediately clear whether Trump was rescinding the invitation for Curry or the entire team.
"Going to the White House is considered a great honour for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!" Trump wrote from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
The Warriors, who hold their first practice of the season Saturday, had not made a collective decision whether to go to the White House in celebration of last season's title.
Curry has said he did not want to make such a visit.
"By acting and not going, hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to," Curry said Friday at the Warriors' media day. "It's not just the act of not going. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion."
At a rally in Alabama on Friday night, Trump said NFL players who refused to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" are exhibiting a "total disrespect of our heritage." Several NFL players, starting last season with then-San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, have either knelt, sat or raised fists during the anthem to protest police treatment of blacks and social injustice.
"That's a total disrespect of everything that we stand for," Trump said, encouraging owners to act. He added, "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you'd say, 'Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out! He's fired."
Agreed 100%. Trump was never labeled a racist, sexist, or Nazi until he ran as a Republican.
The joke about henpecked husbands...
“My wife told Me to stand in This line.”
White Guilt fits in there.
LeBron is being niggardly with his words again...
Yep, agree, those circle arguments, butt those prefacing with “he has the right to say whatever...”
fail to realize THEY start that merry-go-round by pulling on that string!
What’s LeBron gonna do when the NBA folds, brain surgery, start a statue removal service, or be a professional twitter writer.
He can change light bulbs without a ladder, and dust ceiling fans.
LeBrainless, when you make a few billion NOT by putting an orange ball into a metal hoop, then you can call anyone a bum, but sorry, you are the bum...
Great post. But it shouldn’t take a Tea Party to not go to these games!!!!
you couldn’t put a ####ing gun to my head to go to these games and watch my country get disrespected.
And those who know me know i was one of the LAST holdouts to stop watching the game.
But I could only take so much.
The thing is with we holdouts, once we reach the point of no return, it gets ugly.
I’ve emailed just bout as many teams as i can think of and the nfl website and i wrote in my usual straight to the point NYC way.
Never been a southern gentleman though I respect them greatly :)
Maybe a touch of that in me wouldn’t hurt!!
He’ll never be as great as Magic, Larry or Mike...(or The Mailman and John Stockton). Or Will...
My Lightning will win Lord Stanley’s Cup...
4-0 tonight over St. Louis.....A good start.
actually LeBum, Potus actually never extended a formal invitation to the team yet and Curry and this team have been running their mouths about whether to visit the WH or not since they won and POTUS said nothing about it

I’m glad POTUS said stay away. Who needs this losers around.
“....but to do the right or best thing amounts to being a conservative... “
So true. I’ve been saying this ever since the “Trump is not a conservative” mantra started in 2015.
The conservative ideas of federalism, limited government, seperation of powers, a constitution, decentralization of government, free enterprise, property rights, the bill of rights, 1st and 2nd amendments -
- these principles didn’t come from a book, they came from experience - ideas that work - they are all lessons learned from history, designed to avoid various mistakes, to take advantage of the finer human qualities, and protect us from the worst of human nature.
Trump is an enlightened pragmatist - which makes him a conservative
