Apple's new A11 Processor with Six cores in the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and the upcoming iPhone X is by far the fastest mobile device (phone or tablet) processor, beating all of the competition in bench marks by a large margin in both single and multiple core testing. PING!

Cool - I can scroll through my Contacts much faster now! :)
I don't use my iPhone for much, so the A11 is overkill - but I really want one of these chips in a 12.9" OLED-screen iPad Pro.

Who cares. The only upgrade I give a damn about is Apple moving the 1 million jobs from China to the US. I have a 3 year old Samsung Galaxy Note with one side that has the edge glass. Works great.
The new iPhone is epic. It’s 1mm thinner and a whole entire half a gram lighter. It even puts you in the system and feeds facial recognition about you to the CIA and NSA. /S
Bring the jobs back. And stop hiring H1Bs to replace US jobs

As an IT professional, I can’t wait to get to work and dock my mobile device at my desk and not have a desktop. This device may be it.

These are really becoming powerful standalone computers and are getting more optimized for artificial intelligence.
I’ll be interested to see the new kinds of health and fitness capabilities coming to individuals with this kind of dedicated hardware on hand.

"destroys the competition".
Ahh, gotta love sales talk. :-)
Umm, the competition will still be there in the morning.
Right up there with the famous: "This {whatever} changes EVERYTHING!!!!!"
Umm, no it doesn't. I guess I'm just not impressed by sales hyperbole.
Meanwhile, is vooch's comment #8 ("article omits that the plain old iphone 8 scored the absolute fastest of all") true?

So, are these other companies lying in ruins? What about heat running six cores at once?

In this comparison between the iPhone X and the Samsung Note 8...
Based on a few factors - such as price, memory and biometric authentication - the Galaxy Note 8 slightly edges it, offering just a little bit more flexibility than the iPhone X.
The Note 8 comes with a bigger screen, and higher resolution, more internal memory, and the option to expand storage with a Micros SD card, and S pen capability, where the iPhone doesn't have any kind of pen or pencil feature. Both has wireless charging, but Samsung has more experience with that feature since it's been offering for a few years now, while it's "new" to iPhones and probably with slower charging capabilities. AND, the Note 8 will come with a lower price, though still more expensive than most smartphone users want to pay.
Anyhow, take a look:

Many of my friends, colleagues and customers have iPhones.
So I don’t.
They look at my new LG G6 which I will wind up paying around $270 for to purchase over 2 years, and my case which I paid less than $10 for, they say pretty cool !!
My story: When the first iPhone came out, I compared it to the new HTC Evo of the era, and the HTC was a much nicer display.
I got it, and later two more HTC’s. But the final HTC lasted less than 2 years before starting to fall apart.
So I switched to very well rated LG. You know, the other Korean tech giant that stays out of the news?

Always have been and still am an iPhone user(iPhone 6)
But I’m going to pass on the coming $1000.00 iPhone X.
Can use that money to buy a AMD 1950x Threadripper.

Bought the iPhone 8.
Middle kid needs a new phone so he inherits the 5s.
Really don’t expect to need the faster processor. Will it make my phone calls faster?

an almost bezel-less OLED displayThe article starts with a fib, about vaporware, no less.
It looks bezel-less until you turn it on, unlike Samsung's products, which actually wrap around the sides.

My Sony Xperia Zv3 has been going strong for 3 years.. Nothing broken on it yet.. No other Android lasted this long!
