Apple's new A11 Processor with Six cores in the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and the upcoming iPhone X is by far the fastest mobile device (phone or tablet) processor, beating all of the competition in bench marks by a large margin in both single and multiple core testing. PING!

Cool - I can scroll through my Contacts much faster now! :)
I don't use my iPhone for much, so the A11 is overkill - but I really want one of these chips in a 12.9" OLED-screen iPad Pro.

That would be good, too. I always wanted to ditch the iPhone for a future iPad Mini Pro with a SIM card. I’ve always found smartphones to be too big to carry comfortably and too small to do anything useful.

Don’t be ridiculous. That’s not what the new chip is for.
It so you can have augmented reality and have animated poop appear right on the table in front of you!

Interesting. That means ios11 mods to work with iPhoneX is slowing it down. Or the is a bug in a driver.

Stop being iSheep...Which Android can access ITunes with all the stuff I have on it?
Who cares. The only upgrade I give a damn about is Apple moving the 1 million jobs from China to the US. I have a 3 year old Samsung Galaxy Note with one side that has the edge glass. Works great.
The new iPhone is epic. It’s 1mm thinner and a whole entire half a gram lighter. It even puts you in the system and feeds facial recognition about you to the CIA and NSA. /S
Bring the jobs back. And stop hiring H1Bs to replace US jobs

As an IT professional, I can’t wait to get to work and dock my mobile device at my desk and not have a desktop. This device may be it.

These are really becoming powerful standalone computers and are getting more optimized for artificial intelligence.
I’ll be interested to see the new kinds of health and fitness capabilities coming to individuals with this kind of dedicated hardware on hand.

"destroys the competition".
Ahh, gotta love sales talk. :-)
Umm, the competition will still be there in the morning.
Right up there with the famous: "This {whatever} changes EVERYTHING!!!!!"
Umm, no it doesn't. I guess I'm just not impressed by sales hyperbole.
Meanwhile, is vooch's comment #8 ("article omits that the plain old iphone 8 scored the absolute fastest of all") true?

So, are these other companies lying in ruins? What about heat running six cores at once?
