Fear the Walking Dead ping!
Please let me know if you would like on or off the FTWD ping list.

Two of my biggest wrong predictions ever:
1. Jimmy Carter might make a good president (I was 15 in 1976).
2. My belief that an entire series about zombies was doomed to fail.

I don’t why but the zombie genre appeals to me while
I can’t stand the vampire stuff.

This show had finally picked up some steam and gotten interesting in the first part of season 3, before the break.
Then came that 2-hour midseason premiere last week, which pretty much put me to sleep.

"I cant stand the vampire stuff." Zombie stuff is depressing. The good guys never win. Vampires were ruined by the Twilight books and movies. Before that Stephen King's Salem's Lot and Peter Cushing/Christopher Lee in all those Hammer Dracula films rocked my world.

Because the vampire stuff is stupid and geared toward teens.
Zombie stuff is mostly straight up survivalist dilemma drama

I dont why but the zombie genre appeals to me while I cant stand the vampire stuff. Both zombies and vampires are obviously fictional, but the thing that appeals with zombies is the accompanying societal collapse, which happens enough occasionally enough in reality that we are drawn in to think about how we ourselves would survive such a situation.
To: Artemis Webb
Well, zombie themes do need a separate story since
there are only so many interesting ways to kill
zombies.
In “vamp world” they seem to now have different types
of vampires and good and bad vampires. No interest here.

Fear the Walking Dead is a different show. It’s set in the same universe, but the characters started out in Los Angeles.
To: NewJerseyJoe
first hour , too much talking. T
alking Dead barely had an In Memoriam segment.

Unfortunately, I am running one week behind because FTWD is running opposite The Last Ship. Oh well, delayed gratification.

The scene where Michonne shows up injured at the prison after Merle shot her, I knew Rick wasn’t American when he ordered her to “Get on the floor!” They were outside by the gate. Standing on ground.
Fear the Walking Dead ....That spinoff is still on?
