I did not have football on in my house today. I sat on the back deck with my laptop most of the day and I just took a walk over at Putnam Park in Redding, CT. Nice day to be outdoors and did not miss the football at all. I'll probably check the scores later tonight and watch some highlights on YouTube of my favorite teams but that doesn't give a dime to the NFL.

Until the NFL reins in the minority of players that are disrespecting the nation that made them wealthy ball players, I don't anticipate going back to watching.

I'm currently reading a book on my Kindle called "America's Game" which is a very good history of pro football. I'm up to the Joe Namath era and the merger of the AFL/NFL. A very good read so far. It's a shame Pete Rozelle is not around today. I don't think he'd put up with this nonsense.

Lotsa people say they’re not watching. While some aren’t, I think most are.

That’s good because so far today all the games have sucked.

I stopped watching the NFL at least 15 years ago. Sundays have been fantastic since then. So have Monday nights and Thursday nights (of late) and Saturdays (late in the season and during the playoffs).

The political nonsense in the NFL and on ESPN etal just reinforces my resolve that no one in a right mind would ever waste a minute watching anything NFL...ever.

Yes. You may. And especially the Dallas Cowboys.

Jerry Jones has been loud and proud barking against these agenda driven haters taking a knee against the flag, and is now lighting up Goodell’s backside, as well.

Good behavior in a tidal wave of perversions deserves to be rewarded.

ESPN/NFL/Disney no longer make any money from this cable cutter family!

How to use Sling TV Blue to slice the $’s from ESPN and Disney.

When anyone cuts their cable, Sling is a reasonable alternative.

We had both the Sling Orange and Sling Blue. One of our relatives, who hates ESPN/NFL gave us a great heads up.

Sling Blue doesn't carry any ESPN or Disney channels.

We didn't watch ESPN or Disney, however, they were getting money from us by our subscribing to Sling Orange each month when we paid our Sling bill. The same happens with your standard cable contract. ESPN and Disney get paid each month from your subscription if you watch them or not.

I got that info from my our relative, Friday. A few minutes later I had cancelled Sling Orange. So ESPN and Disney get zero money from my Sling Blue monthly subscription payment.

What Is Sling Blue?:(from their site)

Sling Blue costs $25 per month and gives you access to 43 live channels. However,

Blue does not include every Orange channel by default; there’s no Disney and no ESPN, for starters.

You are not by yourself. We, also, liked Steve Young and his coaches. The current Niners, corrupt owners have zero decency these days.

“{Last year]...the Hands up don’t shoot crowd was bad enough but the not standing for our flag and our National Anthem was enough for me.”

Me too. If Colin K had any ethics, he would not use the NFL for his anti-America message. If the NFL had any intestinal fortitude, they would not allow any player to use the NFL brand / platform to promote a personal political or cultural agenda. The reality is that the NFL fears the race hustlers more than they fear the perceived minuscule loss of revenue from their typical fan. And they took notice of what happened the year prior.

Recall what the U Missouri went through the year with BLM sympathetic football players that wanted the university president to resign, which he did. Look at the huge success that caving in to political correctness has brought to UM today. I speculate that the NFL management feared the UM disease could spread and with Obozo’s political hack, community organizer, lack of leadership on the issue in representing all Americans - who could blame them they in a way if they thought Colonitis would come and go if they did nothing to draw more attention to it. Except NFL is out of touch with their fan base. There was a poll last year saying the decline in 2016 was due to other factors, like games are too long(!). They ignored the elephant in the room. The left doesn’t care about football, in fact many despise it. But I am waiting for the headline this year, that the leftist who called for a boycott because Colonitis was not hired - will wrongly take credit for all decline in NFL attendance and viewership this year.

It is a sad state of affairs. Remember the Superbowl half time showin 2002 with U2 and the tribute the the victims of 911? We are in a culture war, and the NFL is in the middle - but again, they don’t understand their customer is what will see them through. I am out, good luck to the NFL - is has become a fake sport.
