"Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode in Halloween Movie, coming to theaters October 19, 2018," Universal Studios Entertainment said on its Facebook page Friday.
No other details about the project were immediately released, but the post did include a photo of Curtis standing outside a house with white-masked, serial killer Michael Myers in the doorway behind her, holding a knife. A jack o'lantern is on the porch by her feet.
Laurie appears in six of the existing 10 Halloween movies. Curtis played the role in four installments from 1978 to 2002 and Scout Taylor-Compton portrayed the character in two re-boot features released 2007-09.

These people dont get that you cant make 70s-80s style horror these days. Film technology, and general audience sophistication, makes it impossible.
It’s just going to look corny because those movies are laden with cliches and tropes that have been reduced to the level of cheesiness on par with what happened to the old monster movies from the 30s-50s.
might have to settle for Eliza instead. She was in Alphabet Killer. Probably no one heard of.
I actually like her. However, will she be doing these movies while getting social security? Not that far off for her. At some point, it’s time to retire a character.

And Arnold needs to take a break for awhile. After Killing Gunther bombs, he needs to take a break and stop making “direct to video releases” and regroup. Twins 2 is not the answer. True Lies II would be good.

I’m guessing the Russians had something to do with it. Or maybe Global Warming. One is as diabolical as the other.

The iconic role in that film is the guy wearing the William Shatner mask.
She was great in H20, which was really the only non-Carpenter Halloween that was good. I think this one will pretend that never happened (it will certainly pretend the NEXT one didn’t since they killed her), but it’s got potential. Carpenter is back, that’s good enough for me.
Will the Leprechaun be in it?
Sure you can. 70s and 80s style horror is still being cranked out by the ton, and makes money too. If anything it’s EASIER now because recording technology is so much better you can make a better looking movie for less. Also modern audiences love self awareness, you can use audience sophistication against itself.
She’s alright. I don’t have anything against her per se, I’m just tired as Hell of remakes, reboots and unoriginal material.
I’m also unimpressed with a general lack of new acting talent.
I’d like to see new talent, talent not named Jennifer Lawrence, in new, original material.
