[snip]

A new study says that nearly half of all adults in America still sleep with a teddy bear.

The study, commissioned by stuffed animal maker Build-A-Bear, surveyed 2,000 adults and found that 40 percent have their favorite stuffed animal by their side when they go to bed. According to the Atomik Research group, more than half of those polled say they’ve owned a stuffed animal for more than 20 years. More than 70 percent of those respondents said they were never going to get rid of their fluffy friend.

I slept with two large moths last night. I was too tired to get them out of the room, so I left a light on in the bathroom hoping they’d go in there.

I made a pet of a sweet Treeing Walker girl that I took in due to somebody dumping her. Great dog, loved me with all her heart, tried so very hard. She started out rough as a cob, obviously hunted, no clue about social niceties and indoor living but she took to it like a queen, lol. Bedtime was a particular favorite, she’d sort of coo and quietly yodel, Walkers are very vocal. She’s wriggle around on the bed, give me a sort of “hug” with her front paws before drifting off to sleep. Once we got past the socialization and house training, the only issue remaining was that she needed frequent bathing because hounds are just very “doggy” dogs, they have an odor that is stronger than breeds bred to be pets, or so it appears to me. I miss her, she passed away earlier this year. Good as gold, sweet sweet girl. We’ll be together again someday when my time comes.

I sleep with a wife who has a baby in her belly.

It’s like sleeping with 1.5 people.

I sleep with a small 12” square pillow that I rest my arm on when I sleep on my side. I started this back when I broke my right collar bone. I just got accustomed to it.

Not me. Oh, wait! A stuffed animal? Would that include deer heads on the wall? I do support my local taxidermist!

I missed out on that, just me and baby, he seemed to always be aboard ship when we found out and didn’t always make it home when the time came. Navy was way different in the 60-80 than it is today.

I went to a Build - a -Bear shop in Canada. Dressed one in cargo pants, trail vest and boonie hat. My grandchildren recognized it as me. But I don't sleep with it. It sits on my wife's quilt rack, next to the bed.

I put this 40% stat from a study financed by a teddy bear company right up there in believability with the study that shows 20% of college girls are date raped.

My wife has her Valentines Panda Bear in the “headboard prison”. Our five year old niece freed her Teddy Bear last year, and took it home.

Sometimes the best things are worth working for and dogs are a part of that. Sounds like you did it well. She sounds wonderful.

But if Heaven doesn’t have dogs I’m not sure I want to live there!!!!! I’ll read Jesus the riot act!!!! LOL!

But very sorry your heart was broken. I know the pain.
