I’ve been thinking about getting a DNA report but wondered about how the various companies compare as to cost, reputation, findings, etc.

Anyone have any information personally?

Only indirectly. My mother had hers done and the results were less that stellar.

They even had the 93% eastern european, as 7% eskimo. It made little sense.
A cousin took it and his eastern european percentages were way less than the 25% they should have been if you get equal genetic info from each parent.
We also wondered if they made inferences based on the bio info you provide.

My mother is pushing 90 so who cares who has her dna but I care about mine or the possibility of linking hers to mine so I have not done it.

I MAY try to simply provide anonymous data when I sign up because i AM curious...Just because they have an adress doesn’t mean a thing...and I could send it to a po box.

When dealing with the US Department of State they required AABB Accredited Relationship (DNA) Testing Facilities.

Here is a Lab listing:

I used the one out of San Antonio, easily done thru the mail. However, if you need it done officially, most like the requiring agency will have to take the DNA samples (which the Lab is fully prepared to support).

So when my daughter is old enough I am going to provide her the DNA results so that she can be clinically assured to 99.9999999999% who are her parents.
