I grew up in the NYC area (lawn guyland) during the 50s and was spoiled rotten rooting for the Yankees.
And if they didn't win the WS, me and my friends were plenty PO'd!

Yes. I watched the 50s 60s dynasty. What a great team

But after the unions and union contracts made it near impostor a single team to build to super levels, George built to 2 separate dynasties. Both in the late 70s (Billy Ball). And the magnificent teams managed by Joe Torre from1996 through the early 2000s.

When I saw the headline I wondered how someone who died now at 79 could have devised the “Yankee dynasty” my mind went, back in the 50s. BUT, he did great with the Yankees’ 2nd Dynasty. RIP, sir.
