I grew up in the NYC area (lawn guyland) during the 50s and was spoiled rotten rooting for the Yankees.
And if they didn't win the WS, me and my friends were plenty PO'd!

Same here. It wasn’t IF the Yanks were going to win the penant. It was WHEN. I grew up in the Bronx in the 50s around 4-5 Miles from Yankee stadium. If you happened to be a Giants or Dodgers fan in that neighborhood. You kept it to yourself.
