Do any of you suffer from "floaters" in your eyes? I'm finding it increasingly difficult with my vision.
Is there a remedy for this?
I have noticed that my vision has deteriorated significantly the past few years.
Just want some input.

Have you had your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist?
Are you logged in?
Did you stare at the eclipse?
maybe macular degeneration
Have you been checked out for cataracts?
I started statins, and 3 days later I had a floater. Stopped statins after researching some and finding that some folks got them from the statins. Went to my optometrist (contacts) and then the opthalmologist. They didn’t think it was a problem. It seems to have gone away and, since I stopped the statins, I have not had another one.
it should not be cause for alarm except if it came on suddenly. https://nei.nih.gov/health/floaters/floaters
I have floaters, including one seemingly familiar one, which is quite noticeable but not obtrusive.
More recently I noticed that I was getting a very small dark spot, on occasion, which seemed to “wander off” within a minute or so of walking around. I attribute this to a “floater” near the retina, sinking under gravity when I’m in an erect posture.
These are nothing more than a minor annoyance ... so far!
I noticed these about 20 years ago & went to the doc. Normal. All people have them and soon you don’t notice.
I know very little about floaters, but I heard they tend to go away on their own eventually.
A serious eye problem could be “macular degeneration” — recommend seeing a retina specialist sooner, rather than later. One type can be stopped with laser surgery.
As a general support for the retina, I recommend taking Vinpocetine, 30 mg daily. In Europe it’s a prescription medication, I think under the brand name Cavinton. But since it’s a plant extract, in the US you can get it without a prescription as a natural supplement.
I read up on it, it is supposed to help blood circulation in small capillaries, which is helpful for the retina, also for the brain.
Swanson vitamins has it, can order it on the web.
I have been taking it myself for some time now. No negative side effects that I found.
Good luck.
I have them too. Had a bad car crash and hit an airbag hard.
They are supposedly impossible to cure, though some eye doctors have experimented with using short range lasers that do not reach the retina and break up the floaters in the eye. Most of the time, it’s simply the collagen lining your eye that’s breaking off, but it can be a bad sign if you’re seeing flashes as well.
this link is awfully old. nowadays there is a laser procedure instead of surgery if they get too bothersome.
My wife has to get shots to clear up bleeds in her eyes.
I had some floaters and detiriorated vision from cataracts. I don’t notice them since I had the cataract surgery .
Go to an ophthalmologist immediately. Sounds like you have the classic signs of macular degeneration, a very serious eye condition. You can look up symptoms for yourself on the internet.
Yes, indeed cataracts can cause deteriorating eyesight, as you point out.
These days cataract surgeries are done frequently and are quite successful. You want a good surgeon, and also do some research on different types of lenses that can be implanted, when they take out your cloudy one.
Check out both an ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgey, and a retina specialist.
I have had them for years-——distance,not close, and I live with them.
I saw the M.D. early on and he said there is not much that can be done.
I would suggest that you see an eye doctor, just to be sure.
.
I havent coddled myself physically, pulled a lot of daredevil stunts, and don't regret it, made it to 63,most of my teenage freinds are dead .
IMO dont go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary, especially if over 50, they want the baby boomers to die so they dont have to payout SS
prescription drugs are deadly poison try to avoid them
