CLEVELAND -- Eleven Cleveland Browns players knelt in a circle during the national anthem prior to Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants.
While the group knelt behind the Cleveland bench in front of the Gatorade buckets, several other players stood nearby and put their hands on a kneeling teammate's shoulder in support.
Those who took a knee were tight end Seth DeValve, running backs Duke Johnson Jr. and Terrence Magee, safeties Jabrill Peppers and Calvin Pryor, cornerback Jamar Taylor, receivers Kenny Britt and Ricardo Louis, linebackers Chris Kirksey and Jamie Collins, and running back Isaiah Crowell (who was not in uniform).

I just got Directv this year (May). I canceled NFL Sunday ticket before they set up my dish even though it was free the first year. Not interested in the NFL now.
What is a Cleveland Brown?
The players are party poopers.
No one likes a party pooper.
: a person who refuses to join in the fun of a party; broadly :
one who refuses to go along with everyone else
What is an NFL?
Auto racing is still the #1 attendance sport in the US, right?
I disagree! This family is DONE!!!
Okay, interesting. What is it about the OL role that requires special smarts? What do they have to do that’s more complex than what, say, a defensive lineman has to do?
The death of football is coming a lot sooner than Rush predicted. Guess I don’t really care what happens to these overpaid SJW jackasses.
Has the NFL season started? I don’t notice!!!
I would imagine Roger Ailes could have been a Browns fan as well. He was from Warren Ohio, near where I grew up.
So disappointed I didn’t even see this. The worst thing is the Browns have turned a corner. 20+ years since that dickwad Modell screwed us over and it’s been crapola. Finally two good drafts in a row but I just don’t care. Not sure what I’ll do when college players start this.
Circle jerks.
#112L If all these “NFL spoiled brat millionaires” keep acting like this, and tickets/advertising revenues fail, they will be out there flipping burgers and stuffing tacos at Taco Bell, thus fulfilling Trump’s wish to bring back jobs for Americans.
However, he didn’t say how smart they had to be or whether they got their college degree in Gender Studies or “Racism 101”.
The football players I met in the late 50s/early 60’s from the championship Baltimore Colts had class, were nice to their fans, spoke understandable English, created or bought businesses, were role models for the young, and a credit to the city of Baltimore.
I met Unitas, Marchetti, and Art Donovan of the Colts, and one of the “Four Horsemen of Notre Dame” (the Gipper’s guys), Jim Crowley. Now those were real football players, not the poseurs and Jim Dandy’s of today.
At that level of play, you have to determine just what the defense is going to do.
Are the linebackers in pass defense or are they going to swarm you and the QB?
It happens really quick in the NFL, much quicker than in college and a meathead offensive tackle in high school ball would never be able to read it in time.
And you pay physically for your failure...
Cancel any and all NFL Sunday ticket and NFL purchases, and send the $$$ to Trump’s re-election
The question is not whether they could lose everyone (of course not), but if they could lose some millions of fans. Yes, especially all of us more devoted to country than NFL. If they lose 10-20% of their TV audience (let’s hope, at a minimum) that is going to be a huge hit to revenues. If we could get an organized movement and make the hit 30%, the owners and league officials would be in a total panic.
“Cant wait for week 1 when the Steelers will kick the shit out of them.”
WooHoo!
Too late - I quit last year. It was almost as easy as kicking my habit of chewing tin foil...
I wish the photographers would STOP taking photos and videos of these idiots. They are getting the attention they want! Just stop!
