Hey djf, can I embarrass you for a second?
I want to take this opportunity to thank Mr. DJF.
Years ago he went out of his way pick up a tennis ball serving machine that I bought online for my dad. The city of Seattle was auctioning off some of its sports equipment and I found this killer deal on a tennis ball machine on their website. The catch was that you had to pick up the stuff at their warehouse.
So I bought this machine with literally seconds left in the auction without knowing how in the world I was going to get it shipped to Chattanooga Tennesse where my dad was.
That’s where djf came in. I posted an urgent request for FR help and he responded. He drove quite a distance to pick up this tennis ball machine. And then, once he had picked it up, he packed it up and shipped it to my dad.
My dad loved that machine as a gift and uses it to this very day. I just wanted to thank you again for your effort in making that happen.
Thank you, djf.
Darn those typos. Should be “went out of his way TO pick up a tennis ball machine...”
Great story!!!! There are compassionate human beings out there !!!!
I remember the incident!
That was back when the state surplus store was down near the GSA complex in Auburn.
I am so glad you received it in good order and delighted that your father is alive and kicking and hitting tennis balls!
FReepers stick together!
Regards,
djf
Sweet!
