New York, both the city and the state, is named after the house of York and particularly for James Stuart, then Duke of York, one of the most successful slavers in colonial American history.

Elihu Yale was a British merchant, philanthropist and slave trader, President of the East India Company settlement in Fort St. George, at Madras, and a benefactor of the Collegiate School in the Colony of Connecticut, which in 1718 was renamed Yale College in his honor.
Was both a slaver - and imperialist. How interesting.

Okay, so the Duke of York was a bad person.
So why not change the state’s name from “New York” to “Bad Person York”? The postal abbreviation would be BY.
The only problem with my otherwise brilliant idea is that New York City would have to become Bad Person York City. And BPYC is not as elegant as NYC.

Los Angeles - > Los Obamas
North Carolina -> North Obama
South Carolina -> South Obama
Welllllll since “Africa” is the source of many slaves and they were frequently captured and sold into slavery by rival tribes, Africa and all of those tribes must be re-named. And since ISLAM enabled and presided over the enslavement of so many millions, right up to the present day, Islam must be abolished!
This IS the approach that need to be taken.

I waiting for the 16 MLB franchises that didn’t allow blacks, to be disbanded.
IIRC, Parliament got tired of the fight over appropriating funds for the king’s operating expenses.
Instead, it granted the king a monopoly over the English slave trade as regular source of income.
It should be emphasize today that slavery in America began as an English institution imposed on not entirely enthusiastic colonies.
Change the name to New Obama. Or New Hussein. I’m not picky.
