OK! I finally did what I have been threatening to do and bought an Apple Computer. Problem...I can bring up FR and surf but it won't let me log in.
Me too! iMac and Safari. It’s the most reliable computer I’ve ever had.
This is Hugh and series. I have to ask: are you logged in?
I am posting from an iMac or an iPhone, each time. Not a Mac thing.
Try taking it back and getting a pc instead.
You have to go back your old computer and post an opus. You have two choices. You can make it really emotional, with lots of misspellings and exclamation points; or, if you wish, construct an extensive and logical and carefully crafted exposition of exactly why, at this critical juncture, you can no longer continue. Warning: This modality requires careful punctuation and paragraphs.
Once the system accepts your departure, there will be a response period in which some FReepers will say [the equivalent of] “good riddance” and some will post “Oh noes! Don’t go!!”
While this is going on, carefully log out on your PC and boot up your Mac. Log in as usual.
Many find it a cleansing experience.
Safari browser will get you there. I use it daily.
>>I get on FR just fine with my MacBook Pro all the time, now sweat.<<
You are suggesting the OP sweat like you do every time you get on? Or that isn’t what you typed and your Apple fixed it for you?
:)
I’m on my iMac right now, cruising on Safari. Works fine. I don’t think there is any particular peculiarity about Apple computers that interferes with using FR.
First question is can you get to any internet site on the Mac? If so, then there’s should be no problem with going to FR and logging on. If you are actually reaching FR and having trouble logging on, make sure your caps lock key is not pressed when entering your password.
Oh, I just read your post. I missed the fact you are surfing FR posts.
If the Caps Lock solution doesn’t solve the log on issue, bring up the NOTES App and try typing something and see if what you type is what you get on the screen. . . especially type your password. Make sure it’s what you expect it to be. I have seen keyboards that are defective once or twice in the past ten years where what is typed is not what appears. Usually, the problem is the language setting is wrong, so the characters that are sent are the wrong character set and therefore the password is wrong. For example choosing the UK English setting and using what you think is a $ in your password and getting the Euro sign instead. No joy in getting into your account.
I can access my email, when I try to access my bank acct it says I need to up date my browser.
Beware the Swordswaller...he’s an Apple shill.
Yeah, but a shill may be what he needs.
I’ve been on FR since 1997, and using Macs all that time. Never had a problem logging in with Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.
you need Steve Job’s permission to do that. Unfortunately, he’s dead.
I’ve never had a problem logging in on my Macs.
Well,
Apple Donates $1 Million to SPLC, Claims Trump Equated Nazis and Those Who Oppose Them 8/17/2017, 6:43:24 PM · by ForYourChildren · 50 replies CNS News ^ | 08/17/2017 | Gage Cohen
In a memo to employees of Apple, Inc., CEO Tim Cook announced that the tech giant would be donating $1 million each to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and Anti-Defamation League (ADL), matching donations by employees two-for-one, and allowing iTunes users to directly support the work of the SPLC. I believe Apple has led by example, and were going to keep doing that, said Cook. We have always welcomed people from every walk of life to our stores around the world and showed them that Apple is inclusive of everyone. In the wake of the tragic and repulsive events..
You have to plug it in first...
Did you buy a new Apple computer or an old Apple computer? If you bought an old Apple computer you may need to update your OS to get the latest Safari. . . Some of the older Apple hardware (ten years old or older) generally can't handle being brought up to date with the latest security protocols.
