9/17/17. Madison, Wisconsin. Leftist mayor Madison Paul Soglin announced today that he will have the informational monument at the city’s Confederate Rest cemetery removed, the northern-most Confederate cemetery in the country. The cemetery holds the remains of southern soldiers who died while imprisoned at civil war Camp Randall, the current site of the Wisconsin Badger football stadium. The cemetery is respectfully tended and maintained, and services are held with graves decorated on Memorial Day. The plaque to be removed explains the origin of the cemetery and who lies buried there.
I wonder if anyone would notice if they took down the statue of Vince Lombardi. I’m sure he had to do something the Antifa disagrees with.

The prisoners buried there were starved and neglected to death.
Their deaths should not be forgotten. This was a war crime.
I agree, do away with the Monument...dig up the bodys and give all the whiners some bones to take home with them, it might be their kin folk.....But it won’t change or erase History...if you don’t learn from you past mistakes you will make them again..............

In order to revise history it is necessary to first remove existing history. It is happening.

Understand these “people” (and I use that term advisedly): they are Leftists who want to tear down everyone that opposes them, and everything that helped or is honored by those who oppose them. They want power, and actually look forward to causing great pain and suffering on their way to obtaining it. God help us if they ever get it - with modern technology, Joseph Stalin and Mao will look like pikers.
As for me, I had no family here during the Civil War - my first distant relative (my grandfather’s youngest uncle on his mother’s side) came here in 1887. The earliest that any direct ancestor of mine came here was in 1905, and most of those in my family came between 1910 and 1923. From Russia and Poland, ruled by the Czar of All the Russias...and who was overthrown by Russian Leftists. Those MFers stole all of my great GF’s property (dozens of horses and carts and 14 houses that he built by hand, with his sons), save the house that he lived in (and he had to share that with 3 other families). That was in 1923. In 1937, the MFers in the NKVD beat him so badly that he died (at age 74 - who beats an old, broken man?) of his wounds. Suffice it to say, I have not one molecule of sympathy for Leftists of any stripe - I’d have them all killed in an instant, if I could, as a way of preventing all of the misery that their kind have already inflicted upon humanity from being visited upon this nation.

If I’m not mistaken, there are some Confederate Civil War dead buried in a cemetery in Elmira, NY (my birthplace).
Couldn’t remember exactly where but this is it. My memory wasn’t wrong...

I weep for my country. I am not here to re-fight the Civil War or apologize for injustice. I am Yankee born and would have volunteered for the Union. I have seen many Confederate monuments and grave sights. They were all honorable. What I am seeing now is quite scary and unthinkable only a few years ago. Where does this end? It’s not unthinkable to foresee the worst case scenario in a mere twenty years.

It’s a respectful plaque that makes no mention of slavery or race. Most of the dead would be young men who for the most part were fighting out of loyalty for their state.
If I had a relative buried there I would demand his remains and take them back home to the South to be buried away from these heathen Taliban fools!
