If Trump is the Republican id, this exchange between Laura Ingraham and Krauthammer is a dialogue between the ego and superego. Ingraham, a nationalist, is all about the agenda. Was Trump’s presser today a good thing? Well, she says, he made some solid points — but it wasn’t useful. It didn’t advance the ball on policy. Krauthammer, a conservative, isn’t interested in that right now. Was it moral, he asks? Was it right?
I wonder how many variations of this exchange are playing out within the administration tonight. Watch this quickie clip of Chuck Todd speculating that John Kelly’s going to end up having to talk people out of quitting over today’s spectacle. Um, I doubt it. Since when do Republicans balk at anything Trump does?

Kelly himself is reportedly not a happy man this evening:
Uh-oh a source tells @SaraMurray new White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is very frustrated with how today played out.

He looked every inch of it standing off to Trump’s side during today’s presser.
Oh — this guy was unhappy too. I know, I know: He’s a cuck.
No, not the same. One side is racist, bigoted, Nazi. The other opposes racism and bigotry. Morally different universes.

Somehow the back and forth between Ingraham and Krauthammer ends with them debating whether Trump’s statement yesterday, in which he denounced white nationalists after hedging on Saturday, reflects what’s actually in his heart or not. If you don’t believe the reporting on that, just watch the guy talk. When Trump is reading from a script, it’s abundantly clear. He speaks more slowly and his sentences are conspicuously more measured than when he’s rat-a-tat riffing on his thoughts, as he obviously was today. What happened the past few days isn’t complicated. He softballed his comments about the alt-right on Saturday, was cajoled by his aides into saying something more emphatic about them yesterday, then resented the fact that he’d been pressured into clarifying his remarks and decided to double down on the “both sides” point today off the cuff. Yesterday’s statement almost amounted to an apology for Saturday’s comments, and you know how Trump feels about apologies. Today he un-apologized.
need help a guy on FB says the statue supports had their permit pulled. anyone know the facts on this?
What I read was they pulled the permit 15 minutes before the scheduled time but a judge reversed it. Of course, it was too late, then the police funneled the permit holders into their attackers.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I heard it a little differently. McAuliffe called a state of emergency which meant everyone had to disperse. But they only told the statue supporters to disperse.
The state and local government failed in their duty to protect the protestors as repugnant as some of them were from violence directed at them. They also failed to disperse the violent counter protestors, ultimately leading to a situation where deaths and many serious injuries resulted.
ACLU famously sued on behalf of a real Nazi group so that they could march through a Skokie, Illinois Jewish neighborhood.
So even granting that there could be a false flag with Unite The Right, I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that the ACLU knew about it.
Yup, charles kraphumper said that President Trump denounced white supremicists and neo-nazis using prepared remarks via teleprompter. As a result, kraphumper said those words were not from Trump’s heart.
Laura dissed the kraphumper by saying, on yeah, you’re a phd, so you know what’s in a man’s heart.
In the thread you had mentioned, someone posted kraphumper was merely repeating what someone named rubin had already said. So kraphumper wasn’t even being original. Instead, he reduced himself to a talking-point regurgitator.
And I think they did that intentionally, they wanted a confrontation.
Statue supporters had their permit pulled but then reinstated by a federal judge, allowing them to protest at Lee's statue. When the protesters arrived, cops permitted ANTIFA--contrary to agreements--to swarm the statue and attack the protesters. Once this occurred, cops refused to intervene. Because the governor called a "state of emergency" at the last minute (he is a Clintonista), the cops used it as a pretext to declare the protest "unlawful" despite them having a permit, and they cancelled the event and began funneling ANTIFA and the protesters together into one spot---thus creating even more violence.
Meanwhile Mcauliff is being attacked because he mentioned Washington and Jefferson in a favorable way. We have allowed a generation of crazy leftists to be indoctrinated and they will destroy us if we allow it.
Whenever I hear politicians like Romney or neocon pundits such as Krauthammer talking about moral, I want to vomit. Guys like Kraut dares to talk about moral when he knowingly misled us into the Iraqi war that killed thousands of US soldiers. Romney? A shameless liar!
The Governor declared a ‘state of emergency’ and ended the permitted protest. And apparently the cops scattered...forcing the permitted group to funnel out of the park onto the streets filled with counter-protesters.
This is a perfect example of why Trump won. These urbandwellers have no clue what is really going on.
Yes. I thought he hit it out of the park.
“On another thread it was stated that Laura Ingraham handed Charles his ass during the discussion. I would not doubt that as Laura has the truth on her side.’
She most certainly didl.Laura and Molly Hemingway have both been good at speaking truth to power Charlea and Hayes are insufferable and worth turning the channel to ignore.
That was a really dumb statement by Krauthammer. Trump didnt condemn any groups specifically on Saturday mainly because nobody was sure what happened yet on Saturday. All we knew was there was a lot of fighting between two groups of protesters, somebody drove a car into a group of protesters, and a police helicopter crashed in the same area in a extremely unlikely coincidence. It was way too early to make any kind of specific statement on Saturday, and Trump really should have just said that the White House was still investigating the events that happened that day and trying to figure out who did what to whom.
Krauthammer and other media jackals are so far behind mentally at understanding what actually happened last weekend. Its just shocking how slow he is. I give it a 99% probability that the tiki torches, the flags with the letters KKK on them, and the car attack were all part of a carefully planned false flag operation by left-wing activists. Just look at all those guys in the pictures who were supposedly white nationaliststhey all look bored and uninterested in their demonstration, very probably because theyre actually paid demonstrators running a left-wing operation. Krauthammer is an embarrassment to Fox News because hes so easily duped by left-wing political operatives. Its time for him to retire and let Laura take over.
An article on a website about tweets between two people about what another party (Trump) said is “news”.
The ACLU of all people sued and got the permit reinstated.
It was very much in the financial and political interest of the ACLU to make certain that useful idiots can get as much camera time as possible.
They make most of their money and get most of their influence from scaring the bejebus out of snowflakes on the left with the big bad boogeyman of Nazis and Klan members. Watch the money flood into them now.
“The days of unconditionally turning the other cheek are largely over!”
Absolutely! We have no cheeks left to turn, and the ones we have are bleeding from all the hits they’ve already taken.
The people who opposed the removal of the statue had a permit to assemble in a public park. They were obeying the law.
