Sen. Marco Rubio issued a statement via Twitter on Tuesday denouncing President Trump's repeated statements that "many sides" were responsible for this weekend's violence in Charlottesville during his press conference this afternoon, telling Trump that spreading the blame for the events would allow white supremacists to count it "as a win."

Nothing justifies violence against a group of people, unless they are themselves doing something violent. Nothing in state or federal law allows violence against a group of citizens just because they hold unpopular, stupid, or even repugnant opinions, or are "adherents of an evil ideology."
Senator Rubio didn't think through his outrageous statement enough to realize that he is, in effect, calling for violence against any group that some other Americans believe is "built on anger and hatred towards people different than you." That's an unacceptable statement for a member of the Senate to make.
