A white nationalist was fired from his job after Twitter users began naming and shaming alt-right supporters involved in yesterday's deadly Charlottesville rally.

Is a “white nationalist” somebody who says “All Lives Matter” or utters “antifa are anti-American communists and anarchists”? Do you need Nazi tattoos and a bald head? Or do you have to simply believe in the miracle that was the birth of this nation? Is believing in the ultimate human achievement of Western Civilization enough to earn you the title? Or do you have to be a card carrying member of Aryan Nation?
To me, it appears to be yet another lazy, unthinking way for leftists and “journalists” to heap opprobrium on normal Americans.
Whites are held to a higher standard of behavior than blacks.
To equate the Nazi and Islamic flags with the confederate flag is assinine. You are clueless.
I wouldn't want to work for you, cuck.
That's funny, because I was reading Instapundit (Tennessee Law Professor) about the man who was fired from Google for expressing an opinion, and the lawyers discussing the matter said that California has a law specifically forbidding anyone from firing a person over their political beliefs.
This was a planned protests attended by ONLY leftwing groups.
Who made you the arbiter of “good moral values?”
According to some legal experts over at Instapundit, California apparently has a law strictly forbidding people for being fired for political reasons.
I don't know if this is actually true, but it was discussed quite a bit last week regarding the man who was fired from Google because he wrote that memo.
“Figures a white nationalist was fired from his job. When was the last time a Black Panther, an anti American Muslim or a commie lost his job. Apparently first amendment rights for whites might be somewhat restricted.”
But for your point I’d have no problem. The double-standards is as distasteful as the White Nationalists
Unless I know someone who is personally involved in a news story, I always assume that I’m never getting a straight story about it from any media outlet.
That's correct, according to this website and if it were purely a Democrat or Republican issue then that might provide protection. But the Nazi and White Supremacist angle muddies the water and will likely provide the employer with all the cover they need for the termination.
When you take away peoples voice and tear down their history. They are going to kill the shit out of you!
Private companies do not violate Free Speech by firing employees. (See Google)
My understanding of legal arguments makes me think this assertion won't impress the judge. But of course in California, there is a very good chance you will get a Liberal Judge, and they will make a "hate speech" exception to the California law.
Nowadays the law means what judges want it to mean.
Wow - you would fire someone for a Confederate flag? You know that Confederate soldiers are considered historical US veterans by law?
When they declare those that refer to the Constitution as racist, you will fire those who carry the Constitution I suppose. Because that is what is coming soon! You watch.
Do they violate "free association" by refusing to let people sit at their lunch counters?
“Black Panther, an anti American Muslim or a commie lost his job. “
A lot of them don’t have jobs. Not the activist ones.
Their job is activism - many are paid to do this.
Don't call it vengeance. Call it justice......of which there is so little of late.
The way the laws are written definitely favor the employer, even in states like California. It is not easy to make your case against your employer, especially if they say you were fired for being a Nazi or white supremacist.
