Probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between it and a 106-hour old fruitcake.

It beats the fruitcakes in DC which are nauseating and filled with $hit.
To: BenLurkin
This has got to be fake news as there is no such thing as an edible fruit cake.

Fruitcake is never edible whether day 1 or day 38,690. On the positive side, I don’t think that it decomposes, though.

Can we surmise only a fruitcake would try to eat a 100-year-old fruitcake?

...
Mostly true, but I have a neighbor that makes one with fresh fruit and liqueur that is really good.

Fruitcake, formerly a favorite, is now on my list of forbidden foodsas it is indicated in kidney stone production!

Just wrap it up and give it away again at Christmas.....
To: BenLurkin
Some relative probably gave it to Capt. Scott after it had already passed through a number of families at Christmas time. Probably thinking we’ll never see this bloody thing again. Could make a good sci-fi/horror movie out of this. The Return of the Fruitcake.

What does traditional fruitcake and conservative patriots have in common?
They both get an undeservingly deplorable bad rap.

I bet this was from the failed Scott expedition around that time.
So, even faced with starvation and death, people still won’t eat fruitcake.
