I wouldn't be surprised that now that the Iron Bank has got their money back, they'll support Daenerys instead.

Jack Gleeson (actor who played Joffrey) was treated very badly by fans, too. He has retired from acting. I would guess that bad treatment by Game of Thrones fans is one of the reasons why.
In watching these battle scenes, it occurred to me the debt of gratitude that is owed Mel Gibson for raising the bar and establishing the standard for how these types of battle scenes should be filmed. The Braveheart influence is unmistakeable.
But I agree with the Emmy-worthiness for this scene, with a special shout out to oft-overlooked sound engineers, whose contributions were as important to the emotional impact of this scene as the photography.
Also, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The "We are so totally f***ed" look of dread on Jaime Lannister's faces cathartic.
Watching Joffrey die a horrible and painful death had GOT fans cheering out loud! The actor was either an excellent actor at making the audience believe he was that unlikeable and that evil or he is something like in real life. He does have the right look to be that kind of person. Someone did a great job of picking him for that part.
I get the feeling when someone gets a part like that to play; a second deal is made for them to be in another show or movie showing them as a good and likable person to kind of balance the scales.
Jamie is finding out heavy armor may be great on land or on a horse (except for the horse) but it and deep water don’t mix. I predict Bronn will cut the leather straps holding it on so he can be pulled up to the surface. They may even escape in the confusion of the battle and burning wagons.

I think I'm beginning to see what you might mean. Lately, I am getting a whiff of Cersi Lanister from Danerys. Her sense of entitlement, that just because she is a Targaryen, she should sit on the Iron Throne. Last season, I think, Tyrion likened her to the Mad King. She wasn't happy about that; but, he pointed out that she was talking about burning down everything. I was agreeing with Tyrion then, and I occasionally remember that when watching her character development.
Perhaps they are going to address this little problem in next week's episode, because the previews have Varis telling Jon that he has to talk to her. This after they show the scene where she is insisting everyone bend the knee or die.
I think I was believing, like most people, that Dany would eventually get the Iron Throne. Now, I'm not so sure. And, I'm not so sure I want her to.

The ones that got torched were the “stragglers” the main force had already delivered the gold to the castle.
Hmm. Dunno. "Essentially" is a rather broad term. Especially considering that Jaime impregnated his sister at least twice...tossed an innocent child out of a 4-5 story window and Tyrion killed his father whilst Dad was taking a dump. And this after staying drunk for almost 3/4 of every day and screwing any whore who would have him.
I think the best you could say is they have a modicum of scruples when it comes to human suffering. But moral? Nah.
By drowning in the water? No chance he goes out like that. The could do a “Glen in the Walking Dead” move and not have him in the next episode but I doubt it. If they were going to kill him they would have burned him up. Show his gold hand melting or something like that.
Braveheart? Maybe
Lord of the Rings? Absolutely.

Chuckles. Well, in my previous response I did consider qualifying the word “moral” so as to reflect a sliding scale of the best to worst potential rulers of Westeros, but I figured - eh why bother?
Taking off our “Judeo-Christian glasses”, one could argue that both men have “morally” matured quite a bit since the first few seasons. Septon material? No, but fair & just leaders they’d now make (methinks).
I hope bringing the actor who played “Dickon” into the story doesn’t mean that Game of Thrones will end as badly as Black Sails.
