Couldn’t happen to a better bunch.
I got a bunch of free tickets to a movie chain about 4 years ago as a gift. I have still not used even 1 of them.
Agree. There’s no worse group to encourage with adoration, or support with $. Starve Hollywood.
Guess Jerry Brown can use California’s shrinking tax base to bail them out. The studios are too big to fail.
happy to say, except for taking my daughter to an occasional Disney movie, i’ve not been in a movie theater to see anything rated above “G” since 2000...
Maybe if they tried to have an original idea instead of reboots, remakes, and retreads, they might have a turnaround.
So, you don’t think Boycotts work?
The stock market is at an all time high, over 22,000, every sector in the economy, with the exception of those being boycotted by TRUMPSTERs, is thriving.
Keep it up TRUMPSTERs.
No, don't just sit on them instead go downtown find the most filthy bum(s) you can, on a really hot day, and give him, her, or them tickets and a ride to the theater.
Strike a blow against hollyweird for Donald, help him drain the swamp.
1.3B Stock Collapse to the Hollywood left? Hit them in the pocket book, that’s the only thing they understand.
DITTO! when they put out decent clean movies it would help. Going to the movies is very expensive for a family.
For seniors it’s a nightmare, phone ringing, hyper kids misbehaving, and to loud they over ride hearing aids, not enough floor guide lights. I can buy a DVD cheaper, or borrow it from daughter.
We even stopped going to Gaither concerts when the moved to stadiums, that are not senior friendly, who holds a concert on in a hockey rink you need winter clothes/boots in August? Several are always taken to hospital from falls in the nose bleed sections.
The ride might be a bit overboard.
Lots of good stuff in the literary world (esp. SF) they haven’t even touched and never will.
Just imagine what they could have done with H. Beam Piper’s Space Viking or The Cosmic Computer (aka “Junkyard Planet”).
Of course, Hollyweird would completely eff up these jewels. Maybe we’re better off.
The Hollyweirdos should shut up about their wacky, leftoid political views. Then ticket sales will rise once again.
Sorry, don’t care...liberals are driving conservatives away..and when you have King Arthur as a black person, you know PC is crap...
My latest binge is LOST after OD'ing on LONGMIRE.
I have seen one movie this year - DUNKIRK. And I have to say I liked it very much. But everything else? A remake of CHiPS? A remake of BAYWATCH? Another iteration of SPIDERMAN? Tell a good story with good production and the movies will get viewers. Otherwise ... meh.
Hollywood makes very little which is “interesting”.
A movie like “Dunkirk” is exciting. “Spiderman” may be exciting. “Guardians of the Galaxy” may be funny.
But where is “Casablanca”? Where is “Chinatown”? Where is anything which appeals to a mature adult? The argument has been that Hollywood makes movies which appeal to their key demographic — so they make lots of comic book movies.
And is that working out well?
Schadenfreude!
Done right, Larry Novena Ringworld saga would be amazing.
