The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds.
From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table(recipes)preserving, good living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.
Well, at least you got some. I’m thinking that I’ll have to plant my own bushes if I ever want blue berries. It’s been 7 years of waiting for hubby to have a crop - I think he might have had one berry. LOL
The grapes are the only thing that look like they might produce this year, but only if he does something to protect them from the varmits.
LOL. That makes me laugh every time I see it.
Well, some good points there. However, part of my reasons is also to build strength - I lost a lot of ground while I was in the latter days of Hyperparathyroidism.
Now, I can’t pick up the garden bags of soil etc. like I used to, so I also want to build up those muscles back to where it used to be.
Jumping is out right now, till I loose some weight at least, and figure out why my legs and feet feel like needles are sticking in them after 5 minutes standing.
Just walking sometimes kills my ankles, feet, and legs. I started doing crunches last week. Am doing several get down on the floor and get up exercises too - just started that this week.
Been thinking about getting one of those square deals like they had at curves to do some jumping on - helps to cushion the impact just a little.
We got some really good rain the past few days, when you add it up. Got enough today that I didn’t have to water anything, and got about 1/4 to 1/2 of the rain barrels replenished - still have room for more.
I have beets waiting on me to process, and tomatoes in various stages. I have also been having BLTs- but deconstructed as I am not eating bread for a while. So I made a BLT salad, and threw in some nuts as pretend croutons.
I also made Turkey club deconstructed - been eating a couple of tomatoes per day.
