Troubling and significant statistics produced by the government indicate important facts about our political system and its priorities. Unfortunately, these statistics often get little coverage in the media. What coverage is provided usually only focuses on the current year and might include comparison with the previous year.
Two such sets of government statistics cover wealth distribution and poverty. These statistics have a margin of error and do not account for the up and down fluctuations in the economy nor changing historical conditions or limitations of what any president can do.
What is perhaps most critical are the trends. These trends show that wealth has become more concentrated and more people are deemed by the government to be poor.

That IS the goal of Socialism! They succeeded, Fie to the lot of them!
To the left, that is a feature, not a bug.
I think that most young leftists support socialism because they fantasize that they would be the ones at the top, living the high life, sneering (compassionately) at the downtrodden masses. They don’t visualize themselves as being one among those masses—even though that’s where they will actually end up.
It must mean that those with a mind to do so, are working again and prospering while those that are on the gubmint dole can’t even get theyselves an 0bamaphone no mo!
Dat’s sad!
Now we're supposed to pretend that none of that happened and believe their "Better Deal" BS? I don't think so.
So the socialist hope and change imbeciles are worse off while Obama hit the jackpot yet they would vote him in for life if they could. Liberalism is truly a mental disease and the US Government is the worlds largest organized crime racket.
George Bush started the “Obamaphone” program btw and Jeb Bush happened to be well positioned with trac phone at the time. conveniently.
Well duh if only we had gotten an addition 100 million on food stamps/ebt cards every thing would be alright.
Where's the one about all the new homeless people?
