MINNEAPOLIS — The fatal shooting of an Australian woman by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call “should not have happened,” police Chief Janee Harteau said Thursday, adding that the officer’s actions “go against who we are in the department.”
In her first public remarks since the death of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old life coach and bride-to-be, Harteau defended Officer Mohamed Noor’s training but criticized his actions.
“The actions in question go against who we are in the department, how we train and the expectations we have for our officers,” Harteau said. “These were the actions and judgment of one individual.”

I insult no ones intelligence here. I am merely providing my long years of experience and practical knowledge here. If it is counter to your “beliefs” then so be it.
If you can provide a Freeper who has successfully prosecuted officer involved shootings to discount my points, then up such individual but I have yet to see them post. Nor will they, for they will most likely not seek to be dragged in the fray of what emotion has wrought and what legal hindsight demands.
I have been making legal predictions on nearly every officer involved shooting noted here on Free Republic for years and the only one that I have been remotely wrong on was the Walter Scott shooting. And even then he was not convicted on statute, but on Federal charges in a plea bargain, most likely to avoid a retrial. It was close but one person could not agree that it was murder. That’s all it takes and it works for all defendants.
I advise my clients not to call the cops unless they want someone shot or arrested. Cops get there too late to do any good, then misread the situation and f8ck it up some more.
Don’t use the internet to rail against officers, gird your loins and do it in person with the first one you see.
Like even the lefties know, however,
“The times they are a-changing.”
God may have scourged America for a while with such police immunity, but He can’t let iniquity go on forever. And if you don’t recognize and honor the spiritual shift that goes with His calling an end to it, you will be swept away too.
What is visible stands upon what is invisible.
The legal system weighs the testimony of Police well above that of the accused, facts notwithstanding.
From personal experience, many cops shoot from the lip and only $$$ will allow a Citizen to obtain Justice.
It’s a Legal System, not a Justice System. Rarely does one one obtain more Justice thsn one chosses to afford. The State has an unlimited budget to grind one down, if the prosecutor so chooses.
