MINNEAPOLIS The fatal shooting of an Australian woman by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call should not have happened, police Chief Janee Harteau said Thursday, adding that the officers actions go against who we are in the department.
In her first public remarks since the death of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old life coach and bride-to-be, Harteau defended Officer Mohamed Noors training but criticized his actions.
The actions in question go against who we are in the department, how we train and the expectations we have for our officers, Harteau said. These were the actions and judgment of one individual.

One could very persuasively argue that Islam followers are premeditated in acts of violence or murder against anyone who is not a strict follower of same. They are loaded and cocked just looking for insults to the word of their prophet.
From previous comments praising and defending cops, almost guaranteed.
God, how low we've sunk!!
At least those who are invested in the darker passages of their (un)holy scriptures.
The Koran is basically the memoirs of Mad Mo, and he didn’t go completely mad all at once from the beginning. There are some more peaceful elements at the start. But then the tone gets darker and darker. And the Hadith view, IIRC, is to take the darker parts as more authoritative.
At best it’s like dealing with leaky dynamite. Once the nitroglycerine oozes out of the moderating sawdust bed, it will go off quite suddenly and unexpectedly.
The Somali officer is pleading the Fifth. Just wondering if the other officer has made a statement.
Ahhhhhh... that’s what they are.
And Molon, shame on you. This is not your typical fuzz, even. Don’t use whitebread assumptions on rotten rye.
I wonder if he deafened his partner by reaching forward and shooting right past his head three times. I wouldn’t be surprised if the partner has some significant hearing loss.
He reached over and shot multiple times through the door or window of the police car at an unarmed woman who had called 911 to report an assault. He should at least be fired, and probably should be charged with manslaughter. That’s my take on it from what we know right now. Inexcusable.
I find the headline quote if true to be more disturbing than the killing. In as such, just what public official gets to comment on who deserves to die and who doesn’t? Think about the mindset of the person making such a statement.
How about terrorism then?
Certainly, pending further investigation, even if someone like Donald Trump has to press for it to happen. There IS the malice element, I think a competent prosecutor could cogently argue from the fellow’s past.
I think the idea was that it didn’t need to be an inevitability.
Give even a raging liberal that much benefit of the doubt. It’s at least a glimmer of having a heart.
Well, she’s trying to pick up slippery bowling balls with a pair of tweezers. Can’t begrudge her trying to make it a LITTLE easier.
I'm speechless... I didn't realize Minneapolis was so far gone.
Ok, so you have no valid argument?
Check out post #54...
Is that Molon or Moron? Cherchez la malice.
“Nor am I letting you call it murder. Educate yourself on the legal definitions of murder and manslaughter for there is a clear distinction.”
Oh, so you are concerned about how you legally describe a cop’s (admittedly a worthless one) taking a innocent women’s life? That’s what I love about you guys, and that’s why I don’t trust you. I wonder what the dead woman’s fiance would do to you if you brought up the subject with him ( I just imagine he’d kick your a$$). But you should not be able to get away with the unjustified killing of a citizen and I don’t give a damn about whatever effing legal description you want to use. “Educate yourself” to caring about the people you serve, at least as much as you care about yourself.
Oh, vette, I think the boom is going to lower on a Mo(l? r?)on.
Mini-Nap-o-list is LOST!
