Sorana Cirstea has criticized the length of time it took for Wimbledon medics to treat Bethanie Mattek-Sands as she lay screaming in agony on court.
Mattek-Sands needed morphine and oxygen as she went into shock on Court 17 after appearing to dislocate her right kneecap in a terrifying collapse. Cirstea, who was first on the spot to help her stricken friend, felt the American wildcard was left too long crying in pain.
I saw she was on the floor, then she started screaming. I went over. I saw her knee out, said the Romanian, who advanced to the third round as a result of the injury. I turned around and told them to bring a stretcher or something. Because I think everyone froze. No one was having any reaction.

Because it always hurts exactly the same, in every knee injury./s
Ridiculous post !
Highly unlikely that The All England Tennis and Croquet Club relies on socialized medicine.
The English have a chip missing... This is why we sailed 500 years ago.
England is goin’ downhill at an alarming rate. Even Salami, Baloney, George Calooney don’t want none.
This sort of injury happens multiples of times more for females. Their knees cannot handle sports-level stresses. Just a fact.
It’s due to their Q-angle.
Well, gosh, your friend is a pussy. I know a guy that...
Your comment was childishly moronic.
And it might not be given to you until after the x-rays.
Broke my back skiing a few years back and no morphine till after x-ray - after which they were very liberal with the doses. Aaahhhh...
G D. Cry baby! Shake it off.
Judges were undoubtedly numbed by Macenroe’s theatric antics.
Looked like she still had one good knee.
It’s classygreeneyedblonde!!!!
Oh, please! It’s a dislocated patella. Paiful, yes. Life threatening ... cut me a break.
Just a flesh wound!
I get it for you. dislocating a knee is a big deal. This lady dislocated a knee cap. Completely different animal. Your situations do not compare.
Pain is a very personal issue, some people have a very high pain threshold while others have none at all. Comparisons to a soldier who either takes the pain and walks out or dies and professional male athletes, of which I have seen more than a few writhing in agony, are ridiculous.
It seems that since about the time of the last election cycle Free Republic has become free to ridicule, insult and hate monger for more than a few members. Common decency and empathy? Screw it, wheres the fun in that!
Hate away!

My God,that must have been BRUTAL.
Why the wait?
I broke a wrist and they gave me a shot of something while I waited for the X-Rays.

I lived in the UK for several years. Their emergency medical is quite good. Their normal care for normal illness is moderately okay.
If you have a severe problem that is expensive to treat but is not life threatening get in line it will be a few months. If you have an immediate life threating illness that can not wait least you die, go to Heaathrow Airport and fly to India or the United States and your life may be saved. India is cheaper. They have good doctors at a fraction of the cost of the USA.
